Primark continues to expand its U.S. footprint.

The value-priced Irish fashion retailer opened a 34,200-sq.-ft. store in Fashion District Philadelphia, an area that spans three city blocks across 900,000 sq. ft. in the heart of downtown Philly. It’s Primark’s 13th U.S. location and third in the state of Pennsylvania. The store will create more than 350 new jobs.

Primark’s Philadelphia outpost features the latest trends in clothing for women, men and kids, along with footwear, accessories, lingerie, homeware and beauty – all at bargain prices. Primark has no e-commerce site, relying entirely on brick-and-mortar sales. The company has long maintained that the high-costs associated with selling online, which includes processing high volumes of returns, would mean it could no longer offer its signature low prices.

“We are delighted to welcome Philadelphians to our latest Northeast location in the US, bringing Primark’s unique formula of quality fashion, beauty and homeware with an amazing price tag” said Andy Stewart, president of Primark US. “Our Fashion District store will mark another important milestone in our ongoing expansion in the U.S. and bringing our Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices to more and more customers.”

Founded in Ireland in 1969 and now owned by Associated British Foods, Primark operates more than 395 stores in 14 countries. The retailer made its U.S. debut in 2015, in downtown Boston (see end of article for all U.S. locations). Earlier this year, the company opened its first store in the Midwest, in downtown Chicago Looking ahead, Primark has signed leases to open a store at Tysons Corner Center, Tysons, Va., and Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream, N.Y.
