First Look: H-E-B expands in Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex
H-E-B has opened its newest outpost in the Dallas-Fort Worth area — with more to come.
The San Antonio-based grocery giant has opened in Mansfield, Tex., a city southeast of Fort Worth. The 128,000-sq.-ft. store joins the recently opened H-E-B locations in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Alliance in Dallas.
In other expansion in the DFW area, H-E-B is planning to open stores in Melissa and Prosper, both of which are now under construction. It recently broke ground on a site in Rockwall, which is expected to open in late 2025.
Designed to reflect the character unique to its local community, H-E-B in Mansfield store also emphasizes environmental sustainability, with energy-efficient features such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting. The location also features extensive native landscaping.
The new H-E-B includes a True Texas BBQ restaurant with drive-thru as well as a Texas Backyard, department with a selection of outdoor essentials. It also boasts an extensive craft beer and wine section with a sampling station, a bakery featuring the grocery’s signature in-store made, warm tortillas and curbside pickup of online orders.
Other features include:
•Deli department with an expansive cheese and charcuterie section;
•Sushiya offers handmade sushi selections made in-store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls, teriyaki and more;
•H-E-B Meal Simple with fresh, convenient chef-inspired meals prepared in store;
•Cooking Connection with live demonstrations and samplings for easy recipes to make at home;
•Produce section with large organic and Texas-grown selections;
•Meat market with prime, natural, and organic meats, Wagyu, and fully cooked options;
•Healthy Living department with bulk food items, sports nutrition products, and supplements;
and more.
