Famous Footwear’s store footprint goes big in the Big Apple

Famous Footwear is opening a flagship in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

The footwear retailer, a division of Caleres, is opening a two-level, 8,400-sq.-ft. flagship in Herald Square on Nov. 15. It’s the largest of Famous Footwear’s 32 locations in the New York metro area.

The store features 24,000 pairs of shoes for women, men, and kids from a lineup of brands that ranges from Nike, adidas and Converse to Steve Madden, Timberland and Dr. Martens to Skechers, Birkenstock, Crocs and Naturalizer. A full floor is dedicated to women’s trends and styles, while three brand and trend shops highlighting the newest assortment from key brands.

The new Famous Footwear also features the chain’s largest assortment of accessories, with backpacks, lunch bags, mini bags, fanny packs, socks, and shoe care items. The service offerings include home delivery of any item not in stock and buy online, pick up in store.

“We’ve created a store that’s fun to shop -- whether you want to explore and discover something new, or you’re on a mission to get in and out with that perfect pair,” said Molly Adams, president of Famous Footwear, which operates more than 950 stores across the U.S. and Canada. “We’re looking forward to serving not only our loyal long time New York customers, but the many tourists looking for famous brands, the latest styles, and amazing customer service, all at a great value.” 

In addition to Famous Footwear, Caleres’ other brands include Sam Edelman, Naturalizer, Allen Edmonds, Vionic, Dr. Scholl’s Shoes, Franco Sarto, Veronica Beard and more.
