Dollar Tree has named a new CIO.

Dollar Tree has tapped a retail real estate executive and a former Dollar General alum as CIO.

The discounter said that Bobby Aflatooni has joined the company as chief information officer.  He suceeds Andy Paisley, one of four corporate exectutives whose departure was announced in June as part of a c-suite shakeup.

“This is the first of a number of executive additions related to our recently announced leadership changes, as we scale our leadership team to accelerate the growth and transformation of our company,” said Mike Witynski president and CEO, Dollar Tree.

Most recently, Aflatooni  served as  executive VP, CIO of The Howard Hughes Corp.  responsible for leading all information technology strategies and operations across the real estate development and management company’s portfolio.

Prior to Howard Hughes, which he joined in 2018, Aflatooni spent nine years at Dollar General in roles that included VP of IT supply chain and operations. He joined the Dollar Tree rival in February 2009 after spending four years as IT director at Pizza Hut.

“Bobby is a proven leader with a strong track-record of delivering results and leading multiple system transformations,” said Witynski, “The technology investments we will make over the next several years will be critical to our success as we enable our people, simplify work streams and accelerate our growth.”

Dollar Tree operated 16,162 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces as of April 30, 2022. Stores operate under the brands of Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree Canada.
