Dollar General CFO departing to join C-suite at Nordstrom
Nordstrom Inc. has named a new finance chief and Dollar General has started a search for a new one.
The department store retailer has appointed Kelly Dilts as CFO, effective Aug. 29. Dilts succeeds Cathy Smith, who left Nordstrom earlier this year to become CFO of Starbucks Corp.
Dilts joins Nordstrom from Dollar General, where she has served as executive VP and CFO since 2023. She joined the discounter in 2019 as senior VP, finance. Dollar General announced her departure in an SEC filing and said it has started a search for her successor.
Prior to Dollar General, Dilts served as executive VP and CFO of Francesca's Holding Corp. from 2016 to 2019. Before that, she was senior VP of finance and investor relations for Tailored Brands (formerly The Men's Wearhouse, Inc.).

At Nordstrom, Dilts will oversee all core financial functions, as well as real estate, store development and strategic sourcing. Her appointment comes two months after the Nordstrom family and Mexican retail group El Puerto de Liverpool completed their acquisition of Nordstrom in a deal that took the company private.

Nordstrom operates more than 350 Nordstrom, Nordstrom Local and Nordstrom Rack locations.
