Dick’s Sporting Goods to open new off-price concept

Dick’s Sporting Goods continues to expand its national footprint, introduce new store concepts and upgrade existing ones.

The sporting goods giant is adding a new off-price concept — Going, Going, Gone! —  to its portfolio, with grand openings on May 28 at Gable Crossing, Avon, Ind., and Monroeville Mall Annex, Monroeville, Pa. Dick’s said the new banner will offer “surprising deals on unique finds in footwear and apparel from the brands customers have enjoyed shopping for at Dick’s Sporting Goods for years,” with deep discounts available throughout the year.

Also in May, the retailer will roll out experiential "soccer shops" inside six existing Dick’s stores and debut six redesigned Golf Galaxy locations and expanded technology offerings in eight additional Golf Galaxy stores. (See the end of the article for locations.)

In addition, Dick’s will also open a namesake store at Northridge Fashion Center, Northridge, Calif., and a Sporting Goods Warehouse Sale store, in New Orleans. (The Warehouse Sale locations are temporary pop-ups offering discounts of 70% or more.)

The soccer shops will offer a high level of service from in-store soccer experts who are specially trained to help customers find the equipment they need and the right fit for their cleats to excel at the game, according to Dick’s. The shops will feature a variety of updated in-store elements, including an elevated cleat shop, and an expanded selection of licensed jerseys in select locations.

The redesigned Golf Galaxy stores will offer golfers of all levels an immersive golf experience, and feature state-of-the-art hitting bays, custom fittings, golf lessons from Class A Certified PGA and LPGA Professionals and equipment, apparel and footwear from top golf brands.
