An anchor space left vacant by Herberger’s five years ago in a top Minneapolis metro mall will soon house a welcome new tenant.

Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed an 80,000-sq.-ft. lease for the building at Rosedale Center, a dominant 1.2 million-sq.-ft. mall in Roseville. JLL brokered the deal and Poag Development Group will oversee construction of the space.

“We are focused on developing the next generation of retail spaces and the upcoming Dick’s Sporting Goods store will be a welcome addition to an already strong lineup of local and national retailers at Rosedale Center,” said Poag’s senior VP of development Gar Herring. “Dick’s arrival will help ensure that Rosedale will remain the Twin Cities’ premiere shopping destination for years to come.”

Dick’s will join a raft of new tenants at the mall that include Aspen Dental, PNC Bank, Caribou Coffee, Raising Cane’s, Shake Shack, and Panera Bread.

“The development of our outparcels has expanded our retail presence outside of the center and offers shoppers more retail options,” said Rosedale’s general manager Lisa Crain. “This is an exciting new anchor tenant that complements our current department store lineup.”

Other Rosedale anchors include Macy’s, Von Maur, and JCPenney. Rosedale also is home to H&M, Lululemon, Apple, and a Seaquest interactive aquarium.
