Conn’s HomePlus has opened its newest store in the Sunshine State.

The specialty retailer of furniture, appliances and consumer electronics opened the doors to a 30,000-sq.-ft. showroom in Jacksonville — its 15th store in Florida. The new location gives Conn’s a total of 167 stores across 15 states. The store opening created more than a dozen new jobs, a move that raised Conn’s workforce to more than 3,500 employees company-wide.

"We're excited to grow the Conn's HomePlus presence in Florida and introduce our wide selection of high-quality home products accessible to all customers in the Jacksonville community," said Norm Miller, interim president, and CEO of Conn's HomePlus. "We are thrilled to bring national brand products, our next-day delivery service and personalized payment options for all customers to this new community.”

Miller served as Conn’s president and CEO for six years, from 2015 to 2021. He immediately took on the duties of interim president and CEO in October when Chandra Holt stepped down as president and CEO, and from the company’s board. Holt departed after only 14 months in the role after being named Miller’s replacement.

In addition to previously leading the company as CEO, Miller served as Conn’s executive chairman from August 2021 until April 2022. He has been a member of the board since September 2015.

Conn's HomePlus operates stores in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. In August, Conn’s also opened five store-within-a-store pilot concepts in five Belk department store locations under the name "Conn's x Belk."
