  • Von Maur beefs up DC with new material handling system

    Atlanta -- Von Maur Department Stores has completed the installation of a new shipping and receiving material handling system in Von Maur's distribution center in Davenport, Iowa.

  • The Corners of Brookfield to break ground spring 2015; Von Maur will anchor

    Milwaukee -- Contracts are finalized and on-site work will soon begin on The Corners of Brookfield, a new 750,000-sq.-ft. premier lifestyle center that will be located on approximately 19 acres of land bounded by West Bluemound Road, North Barker Road and I-94 near Milwaukee.

    The final development agreement has been signed with the Town of Brookfield, demolition of the vacant Menards building on The Corners project site will begin in the coming weeks and a formal groundbreaking is planned for spring 2015.

  • Von Maur heads to Oklahoma

    High-end department store Von Maur plans to open its 30th location on October 18 in Oklahoma City. The new location will be the company’s first in the state and will be part of the city’s Quail Springs Mall.

    The new store will open in a space that used to house a Sears, and will undergo a complete facelift. Von Maur will create a brick façade on the exterior and sell brands like Brooks Brothers, Hugo Boss and Coach.

  • Von Maur’s new store in Oklahoma is designed for hazardous weather

    Davenport, Iowa -- Von Maur Department Stores will open its 30th store, at Quail Springs Mall in northern Oklahoma City, on Oct. 18. The split-level, 150,000-sq.-ft. store will be the company's first location in Oklahoma.

    Located at the mall's former Sears location, the store will undergo a complete remodel in order to feature Von Maur's signature exterior brick facade, which includes arching entryways accented by copper cupolas.

  • Sendik’s Food Market to co-anchor The Corners of Brookfield

    Milwaukee -- The Marcus Corp. announced that Sendik’s Food Market will open a 32,000-sq.-ft. grocery store at The Corners of Brookfield, an open-air town center development in the Town of Brookfield, Wisconsin.

    The Balistreri-owned and operated grocer will be located on the Bluemound Road side of the 19-acre site at the intersection of I-94, Barker Road and Bluemound Road at the main entrance to the shopping center.

  • Tabani Group buys Glen Town Center in Chicago’s MSA

    Glenview, Ill. — The Tabani Group has acquired The Glen town Center in Glenview, Illinois, in the Chicago metro area.

    The 267,732-sq.-ft. center is located just 20 minutes from downtown Chicago in the affluent North Shore suburb of Glenview. Dick’s Sporting Goods and separately owned Von Maur, anchor the center. Tenants include Jos A. Bank, Yard House, Bravo! Cucina Italiana and the Regal Glen 10 Movie Theatres, which are also separately owned.

  • Marcus announces tenants for Corners of Brookfield

    Milwaukee — The Marcus Corporation has announced the initial line-up of tenants at The Corners of Brookfield, an open-air, town-center-style development in Brookfield, Wis. The mixed-use 460,000-sq.-ft. development will be anchored by Wisconsin’s first Von Maur department store, which will span 140,000 sq. ft.

    The announcement followed a vote by the Brookfield Board approving the development agreement between the town and Marcus. The agreement provides for tax incremental financing for the project.

  • Four new tenants sign into Glen Town Center

    Chicago — Four new tenants have joined the Glen Town Center in Glenview, Ill., according to CBRE, the broker in the transaction.

    Fast-casual burger chain MOOYAH made the center its 60th location in a roll-out with the goal of 100 restaurants by 2014. Pinot’s Palette, a national paint and sip franchise, is opening its third Illinois location and 48th overall. Mingle Juice is the third new tenant. Finally, The Curragh Tradition Irish Pub will make Glen Town Center its fourth location.
