Produced by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), this award recognizes corporations for world class programs that level the playing field for women's business enterprises (WBEs) to compete for corporate business, according to the council.

    Edens will unveil Mosaic in fall 2012. The urban grid design mixing hotel, office and retail, Mosaic is a 31-acre mixed-use development located in the heart of Merrifield, Va.

    Mosaic offers a wide variety of on-site amenities including a diverse offering of restaurants unique to the community, shops and large-scale retailers, specialty services and more, all within walking distance.

  • Capitola and Petaluma (California) here we come

    Twenty new Target stores are scheduled to open this year including the company’s first five CityTarget locations and two other units at recently disclosed California locations.

    Target said it would open a 135,000-sq.-ft. store in the California coastal town of Capitola, about an hour and a half south of San Francisco, in July. The store will be the company’s second location in Santa Cruz County.

  • Sales challenging, but profits up and outlook rosy at Target

    MINNEAPOLIS  — Target overcame modest fourth-quarter sales growth to report profits that exceeded earnings guidance and also provided a better than expected outlook for 2012.

  • Target reports Q4 profit drop of 5.2%, raises full year outlook

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. reported Thursday that profit for the quarter ended Jan. 28 slid 5.2% to $981 million, from $1.04 billion in the prior year.

    Revenue increased 3.3% to $20.94 billion, missing Wall Street’s expected $21.23 billion in revenue. Same-store sales rose 2.2%.

    Heavy discounting during the holiday season cut into fourth-quarter profits, but Target still is forecasting a full-year profit outlook that beats analysts’ expectations.
