  • Stater Bros. net income soars in Q1

    San Bernadino, Calif. – Stater Bros. Holdings Inc. reported a substantial increase in net income, for the first quarter of fiscal 2014. Net income more than doubled to $11.1 million from $5.4 million in the same period a year earlier. Net sales rose almost 2% to $984 million, to $968.7 million.  

    Same-store sales grew 1.4%. Jack H. Brown, chairman, president and CEO of Stater Bros., credited the supermarket retailer’s maintaining of a low-price market strategy during difficult economic times with boosting financial performance.

    Stater Bros. reported a substantial increase in net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2014 and credited its long-time low-price strategy for its sales growth.

  • Stater Bros. taps new senior director, real estate

    Stater Bros. has named Michael Reed as the company’s senior director of real estate.

    "We have great confidence that Michael will do an outstanding job of leading our real estate division," said chairman and CEO Jack H. Brown. "His management and real estate expertise will help Stater Bros. meet our present and future real estate needs."

  • Stater Bros. Markets names senior director real estate

    San Bernardino, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets has appointed Michael Reed to the position of senior director real estate.

    Reed has over 13 years of retail real estate experience and has held various leadership positions with other retailers. He most recently served as real estate store development manager for Starbucks and was responsible for growing the company’s Mid-West and Western Mountain Regions.  

  • Stater Bros. elevates Ciraulo to VP of meat division

    Stater Bros. Markets, has promoted John Ciraulo to the position of VP of the meat division. He replaces Kevin Schubert, who will retire in March after 39 years of service.  

    Ciraulo has been at Stater Bros. for 28 years and has progressed through a range of both retail and marketing positions. In his new position, he will oversee the marketing and retail operations of the company's meat and seafood divisions.

    Ciraulo will report to EVP of marketing Dennis McIntyre.

  • Stater Bros. CFO promoted

    Stater Bros. has promoted CFO David Harris to EVP finance.

    Harris began working for the chain in 2009 as VP finance and was promoted to SVP finance in 2011. A year later, he was promoted to CFO and principal accounting officer. Before working for Stater Bros., he was a partner with Ernst & Young in Riverside and Irvine, both cities near San Bernardino, Calif., where Stater Bros. is headquartered.

  • Stater Bros. Markets in executive promotion

    San Bernardino, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets has announced the promotion of David Harris to the position of executive VP finance, CFO and principal accounting officer of Stater Bros. Markets, effective Nov. 25.
     
    Harris joined Stater Bros. in 2009 as VP finance. In June 2011 he was promoted to senior VP finance, and in 2012 he was promoted to senior VP finance, CFO and principal accounting officer.

    Harris reports to Jack H. Brown, chairman of the board and CEO.

  • Stater Bros. to open new Moreno Valley, Calif., supermarket

    San Bernardino, Calif. — Stater Bros. has announced the opening of a new supermarket in Moreno Valley, Calif., on Nov. 13. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in the parking lot at 8:15 a.m.

    The 43,670-sq.-ft. store will be the fourth location for Stater Bros. in Moreno Valley.
