  • Starbucks names new execs for Teavana and Canada; Teavana CEO retires

    Seattle - Starbucks Coffee Company has named Starbucks Canada executive VP and president Annie Young-Scrivner as executive VP and president, Teavana. Nine-year retail operations executive and employee resources senior VP Rossann Williams has been appointed senior VP and president, Starbucks Canada.

    Teavana founder and CEO Andy Mack, having helped with the integration of Teavana with Starbucks, has decided to retire from the company.

  • Report: Starbucks to include tipping on Square app

    Seattle – Starbucks reportedly plans to soon include an automatic tipping feature on its Square mobile payment app.

    According to the Wall Street Journal, Starbucks, which currently only uses the payment features of the Square app, will deploy a feature that both automatically prompts a customer to leave a tip in appropriate situations and computes tip amounts for them.

    Stater Bros. has named Michael Reed as the company’s senior director of real estate.

  • Stater Bros. Markets names senior director real estate

    San Bernardino, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets has appointed Michael Reed to the position of senior director real estate.

    Reed has over 13 years of retail real estate experience and has held various leadership positions with other retailers. He most recently served as real estate store development manager for Starbucks and was responsible for growing the company’s Mid-West and Western Mountain Regions.  

  • Report: Starbucks parody store opens in Los Angeles

    Los Angeles – A store called “Dumb Starbucks,” with no affiliation with the actual Starbucks chain, has reportedly opened in Los Angeles. According to the Wall Street Journal, the store opened, offering free coffee, on Saturday, Feb. 8.

  • Target heads to Maui, Hawaii

    Target plans to open a new store in the city of Kahulu — its first on the island of Maui in Hawaii — in March 2015. The store will be located on Hookele Street as part of the Pu‘unēnē Shopping Center.

    The 140,000-sq.-ft. store will feature Target’s everyday essentials and exclusive brands along with a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy.
