  • Old Navy joins network to reward customers for store visits

    PALO ALTO, Calif. — Old Navy has become the latest retailer to partner with Shopkick, a shopping mobile app that rewards shoppers for walking into stores. Customers who have the shopkick app on their smartphones will be able to receive walk-in rewards at any of Old Navy's nearly 1,000 U.S. locations, Shopkick reported.     Middletown, N.Y. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 56,491-sq.-ft. Hobby Lobby recently opened at Fairview Corners, located in Middletown, N.Y.

  • Simon files lawsuit against State of Indiana

    Indianapolis -- Shopping mall owner Simon Property Group said Friday it has filed a complaint against the State of Indiana in Marion County Circuit Court.

    The suit is not for monetary damages but is a move to try and force the state to make Amazon.com collect sales tax in order to erase Amazon’s pricing advantage over brick-and-mortar retailers.

    Somers Point, N.J. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 2,400-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Pet Valu at Ocean Heights Shopping Center, located in Somers Point, N.J.

  • Dots, Gymboree Play and Music join Westridge Court

    Naperville, Ill. -- Brixmor Property Group announced two retailers will join Westridge Court, located in Naperville, Ill.

    A 4,466-sq.-ft. Dots recently opened at Westridge Court.  And a 4,000-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Gymboree Play and Music. 

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Westridge Court.

  • Brixmor names regional executive

    New York City -- Brixmor Property Group said Wednesday it has appointed Thomas W. Litzler as senior VP, central region.

    Based in Chicago, Litzler will serve as the asset manager for the region, directing leasing, property operations and redevelopment activity for 11.7 million sq. ft. of community and neighborhood shopping centers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.
