  • Brixmor plans to redevelop Milwaukee-area center

    The Kroger Company’s lease on a vacant Pick ’n Save store at the Spring Mall shopping center in Greenfield, Wisconsin, expires soon, and center owner Brixmor has stated it will use that occasion to redevelop the property.
  • Milwaukee Pick ‘n Save center sold

    Chicago-based Newport Capital Partners purchased a 69,749-sq.-ft. center anchored by Pick ‘n Save the Milwaukee area. Terms of the deal, brokered by Mid-American Real Estate Corp., were not disclosed.    Other tenants in the center at the Intersection of I-41/45 and Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa include Firehouse Subs, Mattress Firm, and Supercuts. The sellers were New York-based DRA Advisors and Atlanta-based RCG Partners.  
  • Top Roundy’s exec to step down

    Bob Mariano, CEO of the Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. division of The Kroger Co., will retire effective Sept. 1, 2016.   After retiring, Mariano will serve as strategic adviser to Kroger and Roundy's for two years. Don Rosanova, president of Mariano's, and Michael Marx, president of Roundy's Supermarkets Wisconsin, will continue to serve in their current roles leading the two supermarket divisions.  
  • Former Walgreen exec joins Roundy’s board

    New York -- BizHive CEO Kim Feil is bringing her retail marketing knowledge to the board of regional supermarket operator Roundy’s.

    The publicly held operator of 149 stores in Wisconsin and Illinois said Feil brings to its board proven retail marketing experience and a keen understanding of consumer insights, marketing strategy and change management.

  • Mid-America arranges sale of Point Loomis to Phillips Edison

    Milwaukee - Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Point Loomis Shopping Center located in Milwaukee. Cincinnati-based Phillips Edison purchased the 160,533-sq.-ft. center.

    Point Loomis Shopping Center is located at the southwest corner of 27th Street and Loomis Road in Milwaukee, and features Kohl’s, Pick ‘n Save, and Chase Bank.

    Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

  • Slate Retail REIT to buy two grocery-anchored centers in Midwest

    Toronto -- Slate Retail REIT announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to purchase two grocery-anchored shopping centers.

    Oakland Commons, a 73,705-sq.-ft. property in Bloomington, Illinois, will be acquired for $8.2 million ($111 per square foot). The 100% occupied property is anchored by Jewel-Osco, a subsidiary of Albertsons LLC.

  • T.J Maxx, Ulta, Rue 21 and Charming Charlie to open at Shoppes at Fox River

    Milwaukee -- Opus Development Corp. announced the scheduled openings of T.J Maxx, Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, Rue 21 and Charming Charlie’s by Oct. 28 at the company’s Shoppes at Fox River development in Waukesha, Wis.

    Opus broke ground on the first development in Phase II of the Shoppes at Fox River in April 2012. The development includes more than 47,000 sq. ft. of retail space on six acres of land adjacent to the existing Phase I buildings, which opened in 2009 and include Target and Pick ‘n Save.

     

  • Opus announces final tenant for Phase I of Shoppes at Fox River

    Milwaukee -- The Milwaukee office of Opus Development Corp. said that Hallmark Gold Crown will occupy the final space of its Shoppes at Fox River Phase I retail development in Waukesha, Wis.

    The addition of Hallmark makes the 273,000-sq.-ft. Phase I 100% occupied, including a 132,000-sq.-ft. Target and a 60,000-sq.-ft. LEED-Silver certified Pick ‘n Save grocery store.
