  • Ambassador Town Center celebrates grand opening with 97% occupancy

    Lafayette, La. -- Stirling Properties and CBL & Associates Properties celebrated the grand opening of Ambassador Town Center located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The center is currently 97% leased and includes either first-time locations within Lafayette or Louisiana, or both.

  • PetSmart helps Major League Baseball go to the dogs

    Phoenix-based PetSmart and the Arizona Diamondbacks are teaming up to create the first-ever season-long dog-friendly ballpark in America.

    The retailer worked with the team on new PetSmart Patio, PetSmart Park and the Dog Days of Summer program, where dog-loving fans can bring their dogs to all 13 Sunday Diamondbacks home games in the 2016 season (the first game will be on April 10 vs. the Chicago Cubs).

  • Tenants revealed at Fremaux Town Center for Phase II of development

    Slidell, La. -- Stirling Properties and CBL & Associates Properties announced new tenants and updates to Phase II of Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, Louisiana.

    Newly signed tenants include: Books-A-Million, moving from its current location at Northshore Square Mall, will occupy 7,500 sq. ft. and is expected to open on March 3; Five Below will occupy a 8,024 sq. ft. space and is expected to open April 6; Allure Nail Spa, and LensCrafters are opening spring of 2016.

  • Shoppers see beam of hope for mobile loyalty

    A number of major retail chains are leveraging a mobile app that allows scanners to read barcodes on smartphones.

    Shoppers at retailers including CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, Nectar, Rite Aid, Toys “R” Us, Best Buy, PetSmart, Staples, Safeway, and Giant Eagle are using the Mobeam 4.0 Beep’nGo app for Samsung Android mobile devices. The app, which can integrate with existing payment apps, allows customers to use barcode-based loyalty cards, gift cards and coupons on their smartphone at checkout scanners.

  • PetSmart launches protein bar for dogs

    PetSmart has become the first pet retailer to ink a deal with the founder of one of the newest and most exciting innovations for dogs: meal replacement bars.

    The specialty pet store announced it will carry TurboPUP portable meal bars for dogs in more than 900 PetSmart stores across the U.S. and Canada this year. Last week the founder of TurboPUP bars appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank with the news of her exclusive, national retail deal with the retailer.

  • Nordstrom Rack on the move

    Nordstrom continues to expand its off-price format, with plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Marketplace at Braintree in Braintree, Massachusetts. The approximately 35,000-sq.-ft. store, leased from Seritage Growth Properties is scheduled to open in fall 2016.

    Nordstrom Rack at The Marketplace at Braintree will join a diverse group of retailers including Ulta Beauty, Sports Authority, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond and PetSmart. The 351,282-sq.-ft. center is located south of downtown Boston and near main highways including I-93, I-95 and Route 3.
