  • Pita Pit, Yolicious to open at Orchards Market Center, Phase II

    Vancouver, Wash. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space to Pita Pit and Yolicous, which will open in a 2,032-sq.-ft. space this summer at Orchard Market Center, Phase II, located in Vancouver, Wash.

    The 178,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Wholesale Sports and LA Fitness, alongside national retailers such as Jo-Ann, Office Depot, Petco and Starbucks.

  • Office Depot reports Q1 loss amid weak sales

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Office Depot reported a first quarter loss of $5.4 million, down from a profit of $29.5 million in the prior-year period, amid weaker sales and a higher tax rate.

    Total company sales for the quarter were $2.97 billion, down 3% from last year.

    BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Office Depot didn’t have to look far in its search for a new agency of record, as the Boca Raton, Fla.-based office supplies and services company announced the selection of Fort Lauderdale-based Zimmerman Advertising.

  • A pen is mightier when recycled

    BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Office Depot announced that, from April 17 through April 23, it is inviting customers to trade in their used writing instruments regardless of brand to any of its retail stores nationwide. In exchange for ten pens, pencils or markers, customers will receive a coupon toward a new product from Newell Rubbermaid Office Products. The collected instruments will be sent to TerraCycle to be turned into new office supply products ranging from trash cans to desk organizers.

  • Newmark Knight Frank to market Crossroads Square

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Atlanta-based Newmark Knight Frank Capital Group said it has been retained as exclusive marketing agent for Crossroads Square, a 174,153-sq.-ft. neighborhood retail center in Jacksonville, Fla.

    Anchor tenants at Crossroads Square include Floor & Décor, Office Depot, Harbor Freight Tools and Dollar General.

  • NASCAR events to generate traffic at Walmart

    Walmart has long shunned outright sponsorship of a NASCAR team, while such other retailers as Target, Office Depot, Bass Pro Shops, Home Depot and Lowe’s have embraced the sport with much success. With most NASCAR fans already shopping its stores, Walmart has adopted for a more surgical approach, which is evident again this year as the company executes promotional events at stores in markets where races are being held.
