  • Englewood Construction announces new retail projects

    Chicago -- Lemont, Ill.-based Englewood Construction said Wednesday it has embarked on five new projects -- four in the Midwest and one in Washington, D.C.

    In the Chicago area, Englewood has been tapped for three new retail projects, including the interior build-out for a new Trader Joe’s coming to the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Trader Joe’s will occupy 14,801 sq. ft. of first-floor retail space, topped by a two-story parking deck. The new store is slated to open in April.

  • Warner Bros. to light up Toy Fair with 'Green Lantern'

    BURBANK, Calif. -- Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced that it is teaming up with a leading group of global licensees at Toy Fair in support of the Summer 2011 blockbuster film, Green Lantern, highlighted by DC Entertainment's master licensee, Mattel.  The June 17 release of Green Lantern from Warner Bros. Pictures, marks the live-action theatrical debut for the legendary comic super hero, the company reported.

  • Mattel plays with idea of new COO position

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Mattel announced that it has appointed Bryan Stockton, Mattel’s president of international, to the new position of chief operating officer, effective immediately. Stockton will report to Robert Eckert, chairman and chief executive officer of Mattel, as will Mattel’s finance, legal and human resources functions.

    The company also announced that Neil Friedman, president of Mattel brands, will be leaving the company in March 2011.
