  • POS provider earns industry award

    LAS VEGAS — Epson America Inc., a supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, has received the Gold Award of Excellence in the hardware technology category during the Retail Solutions Providers Association's RetailNOW 2012 show.
     

  • Saks Fifth Avenue pilots Cornell-Mayo's mobile POS

    Parsippany, N.J. -- Cornell-Mayo Associates said Monday that Saks Fifth Avenue is piloting its Omniexpress mobile POS application for the iPod at two Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th stores.

    The pilot is underway at stores in Woodbury Commons, N.Y. and Bergen, N.J., with four iPods in each store. Saks plans to pilot the Omniexpress mobile POS application for the iPod in its Saks Fifth Avenue stores later this month as well as begin the rollout to additional Off 5th and Saks Fifth Avenue stores in spring 2012.

  • Epson thermal printer helps Friendly’s Express increase order accuracy

    Long Beach, Calif.  -- Epson America announced that Friendly's Express, a new fast-casual concept from Friendly Ice Cream Corp., is using Epson's TM-T88 ReStick thermal printer with MAXStick liner-free, biodegradable and recyclable labels to identify orders in all five of its locations. By installing an intelligent label interface into the Epson ReStick printer, Friendly's Express was able to configure its point-of-sale (POS) systems to print individual item labels for only its carryout orders.
