  • Olive Garden rolling out new restaurant design, online To Go platform

    ORLANDO, Fla. -- Olive Garden has begun the the roll out of a new restaurant remodel design and logo. The company, a division of Darden Restaurants Inc., is also launching an updated web experience and an online to-go platform for desktop and mobile computer users at all its U.S. restaurants.

    Maria Martinez was elevated to the role of chief human resources officer at HSN, Inc., a $3.4 billion interactive multichannel retailer.

  • HSN promotes Martinez to HR head

    St. Petersburg, Fla. — HSN Inc. has promoted Maria Martinez to chief HR officer, effective immediately. In her new role, she will be responsible for providing leadership in executing human resources strategies in support of the company's business objectives.

    She will have specific responsibility for talent acquisition and assessment, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, total rewards, and wellness programs. She will continue to be based at the company's headquarters in St. Petersburg.

  • Darden sells Red Lobster to Golden Gate Capital for $2.1 billion

    Orlando, Fla. -- Darden Restaurants on Friday said it has reached an agreement to sell its struggling Red Lobster chain to private equity firm Golden Gate Capital for $2.1 billion.

    "Red Lobster is exactly the type of company in which we seek to invest given its great brand profile and strong management team,” said Josh Olshansky, managing director at Golden Gate Capital. “We see significant opportunities for future growth by partnering with Kim Lopdrup and the management team to support the long-term success of Red Lobster."

  • The Wet Seal bids farewell to Arden B business

    The Wet Seal is winding down its Arden B brand. Arden B currently operates 54 mall-based stores and an e-commerce site. In the fiscal year ended Feb. 1, the brand generated net sales of $60.4 million and represented 11% of consolidated net sales.

    “This was a difficult decision that followed a comprehensive review of the business and market dynamics. We would like to thank all of our Arden B team members for their hard work and dedication to the brand, and also extend our gratitude to our loyal customers,” said CEO John D. Goodman.

  • Wet Seal to phase out Arden B banner

    Foothill Ranch, Calif. - The Wet Seal Inc. will begin winding down its Arden B brand. Arden B currently operates 54 mall-based stores and an e-commerce website.

  • Api(+) expands staff

    Tampa, Fla. -- Retail architecture and design firm api(+) announced the appointment of John Ziebarth as studio director for its food service group. He was most recently brand design manager for the specialty restaurant group at Darden Restaurants, Orlando, Fla.
