Michigan-based Biggby Coffee recently hit a milestone with its franchising efforts.

Americans can’t get enough coffee, and several leading chains are seeing store visits rise so far this year.

Rego Restaurant Group is looking to grow with prefabricated restaurants.

Kalamazoo, Mich. – A $2.2 million, 23,000-sq.-ft. retail center is reportedly planned for Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, developer Habib Mandwee plans to open the center in a downtown area next to a location where Kalamazoo Valley Community College wants to build a health-focused campus.

Tenants for the retail center include Biggby Coffee and On the Rocks Market, with room for four other retailers. Developers hope to start construction in spring 2015 with a fall 2015 completion target.

South Bend, Ind. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that Biggby Coffee has leased space at Eddy Street Commons at Notre Dame, located South Bend, Ind.

The coffee retailer leased 1,501 sq. ft. for its first Indiana location and will open spring 2012.

Eddy Street Commons is a mixed-use development located adjacent to the University of Notre Dame campus and featuring 90,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 266 apartments, 49 condos, 20 courtyard townhomes, 60 flats, 62 city homes and 82,000 sq. ft. of office space.
