  • Burrito chain adds New Jersey location

    New Jersey’s answer to Chipotle has signed a lease for another location in that state.   Bubbako’s Burritos, a made-to-order chain that got its start in the popular Jersey shore town of Point Pleasant, has signed a lease for a 1,900-sq.-ft. restaurant at Aldrich Plaza in Howell. Other tenants there include Bed, Bath & Beyond, Retro Fitness, and Boston Market.  
  • Google Home helps users ‘go shopping’

    Google Home is giving Amazon’s Echo a run for its (shopping) money.   On Thursday, Google announced that shoppers can use Google Home to order everyday basics from Google Express retailers, including Costco, Whole Foods Market, Walgreens, PetSmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and others, reported GeekWire.   
  • First-of-its-kind store for Bed, Bath & Beyond

    Bed, Bath & Beyond is debuting a new store format — complete with a food hall — in Brooklyn, New York.    Located in the Sunset Park neighborhood, the new store (called "Beyond at Liberty View") in unique for the retailer in that it houses four of its brands under one roof: Bed Bath & Beyond, Face Values, buybuy Baby and Cost Plus World Market.   
  • Bed Bath & Beyond falls short

    Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. reported less-than-expected earnings for its third quarter, hurt by continuing higher expenses and flat sales.   The retailer’s profit dropped to $126.4 million or $0.85 per share, from $177.8 million or $1.09 per share in the year-ago period.    Sales inched up 0.1% to $2.96 billion, also lower than expected.  
  • Bed Bath & Beyond hit with overtime pay suit

    Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is being accused of shorting the wages of employees by not paying them for overtime.   The class action lawsuit, filed in New Jersey’s Middlesex County Superior Court, accuses the home goods retailer of violating the state’s Wage and Hour Law by not paying some of its employees time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40 hours.   
  • Amazon price changes less ‘dynamic’ Thanksgiving weekend

    Amazon knows Thanksgiving weekend shoppers are typically bargain hunters, yet the company became increasingly less price dynamic as the weekend wore on.    That’s according to an infographic from 360pi, which examined the promotional and pricing strategies of Amazon, Walmart and Target, among others, during Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
