As 2010 draws to a close and interest in mobile technology and mobile commerce reaches a fever pitch (mobile is expected to be among the NRF Show’s biggest themes), Juniper Research has drawn up a list of predictions for the mobile and wireless industry for 2011. Here is the firm’s Top 5 predictions:

BOSTON - A recent survey regarding memorable product launches in 2010 found that -- not surprisingly -- the Apple iPad secured the number-one spot. At number two was Windows 7, followed by Pretzel M&Ms at number three, Motorola Droid at number four and McDonald's Smoothies rounding out the top five.

New York City - According to the Brand Keys Holiday Survey, released Tuesday, Amazon topped the marketing research consultancy’s list of the top 10 retailers based on customer visits.

Walmart and Apple tied for second, followed by Target, Zappos, Best Buy and Dell, Kohls, Overstock and QVC, Lands End and L.L. Bean, J.C. Penney, and Macy’s.
