  • American Express Serve adds Dollar General, Rite Aid as card reload providers

    American Express Serve announced this week that it and Rite Aid and Dollar General had joined forces to allow American Express Serve account holders to add money to their cards at the retailers’ locations around the country. The two companies join CVS/pharmacy, Family Dollar, Family Dollar, Walmart and 7-Eleven as places where customers can do a Free Cash Reload of their cards.

    7-Eleven is teaming up with a San Francisco start-up to launch an on-demand delivery service at select colleges.

    The convenience store giant has partnered with Tapingo, a mobile commerce application for college campuses, to launch on-demand delivery of 7-Eleven products in the college market.

  • Walmart Canada makes online shopping easier

    Walmart Canada is looking to make online shopping as convenient as possible by partnering with 7-Eleven Canada Inc. to expand Walmart Canada’s Grab & Go locker network in six 7-Eleven stores in the greater Toronto area.

    The service offers customers using Walmart.ca a free shipping option where they can pick up their order, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no cost. This partnership expands on Walmart Canada’s current Grab & Go Locker service, which offers free shipping to 45 Grab & Go lockers in the GTA.

    Walmart Canada is joining forces with a C-store giant to make online shopping as convenient as possible.

    In a pilot project, Walmart’s Canadian subsidiary is partnering with 7-Eleven Canada to expand Walmart Canada’s Grab & Go locker network to six 7-Eleven stores in the greater Toronto area.

  • 7-Eleven pays the bills

    7-Eleven Inc. is targeting cash-using consumers with a new mobile bill payment service. The convenience retailer is partnering with financial services technology company PayNearMe to launch the 7-Eleven Bill Pay app.

  • Walgreens provides on-demand delivery service through Postmates

    Walgreens and its Duane Reade subsidiary on Tuesday inked a deal with Postmates that will provide urbanites across 30 markets on-demand delivery service fulfilling all their health, beauty and wellness needs, Postmates announced.

    This marks a same-day delivery first for a cutting-edge retailer like Walgreens, though Postmates has been delivering goods from the likes of Starbucks, Chipotle, McDonald’s, Apple, Etsy and 7-Eleven for some time now. Customers utilizing the service will be charged a flat introductory delivery fee of $4.99 for a limited time.
