Chick-fil-A is adding podcasts, original animated shows and other types of family-friendly content to its menu.

The quick-service restaurant chain is introducing a new app called "Chick-fil-A Play,” which it said is “designed for parents and kids to share and experience together whether they’re enjoying a meal at home, in the drive-thru, or anywhere in-between.”

Officially rolling out Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, the free iOS and Android app will be loaded with a variety of content and original entertainment, including:

  • Original animated shows, such as the fantasy adventure “Evergreen Hills” (see video) and shorts featuring the animated Chick-fil-A cow mascots, designed in landscape format to be watched together on a TV or through a tablet;
  • Kid-friendly scripted original podcasts;
  • Video-based recipes and kid-friendly crafts; and
  • Family-friendly e-books and interactive stories.

"Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our restaurants and play areas or through our kids meals," said Dustin Britt, executive director of brand strategyChick-fil-A. "The Chick-fil-A Play app is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘play’ for our customers in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together."

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Restaurant and Food Delivery Study 2024, Chick-fil-A’s lead the fast-food industry with an ACSI score of 83. The company’s long-term success is reflected in revenue: Chick-fil-A’s non-mall locations averaged $9.4 million revenue in 2023. That’s more than double that of McDonald’s while being open one day less per week (Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays).
