  • Report: Billionaire buys Tokyo Tiffany Building

    New York -- Masayoshi Son, billionaire founder of tech/telecom company SoftBank Corp., has reportedly won bidding for the Tiffany Building in the Ginza shopping district of Tokyo. According to Forbes, Son paid about $36 million for the 10-story glass building.

    The Tiffany Building houses the flagship Japanese store of Tiffany & Co. Son did not comment on why he bought the building.

     

  • Saks Off 5th opens, relocates stores

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th plans to open a second store in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 3. On the same date, the retailer plans to open its newly relocated store at Potomac Mills in Woodridge, Va.

  • Nordstrom Rack to make Philadelphia debut

    Seattle -- Nordstrom Rack will make its Philadelphia debut, opening an approximately 39,000-sq.-ft. store on Chestnut Street in fall 2014. The property is owned and managed by JEMB Realty Corp.
       
    The new Nordstrom Rack will move into a completely renovated space that was originally home to department store Bonwit Teller and was most recently held by Daffy's. The store will occupy the first three floors of the historic, eight-story building.
       

  • Sam’s Club opens new Illinois store

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Sam's Club will open its newest club at 460 S. Weber Road in Romeoville, Ill., on Oct. 3. The Romeoville club will become the 21st Sam's Club in the Chicago area.

  • Fairway Market plans Long Island store

    New York - Fairway Group Holdings Corp., the parent company of grocery chain Fairway Market, will open a 53,000-sq.-ft. store in the DSW Plaza at 4000 Middle Country Road in Lake Grove Long Island, N.Y., in spring 2014.
     
    The new store will be the first Fairway Market location in Suffolk County on Long Island and the 15th food store in the tri-state New York, New Jersey and Connecticut region.

     

  • ARC Retail completes Tiffany Springs purchase

    New York -- American Realty Capital – Retail Centers of America, Inc. ("ARC Retail") closed its acquisition of the Tiffany Springs MarketCenter, located in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 26, for a contract price of $53.5 million, exclusive of closing costs. The purchase of the Tiffany Springs MarketCenter represents ARC Retail's third acquisition of a retail power center with multiple credit tenants.

  • Von Maur enters Alabama market

    Von Maur plans to open its 29th store at Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover, Ala., on Nov. 2. Located just outside of Birmingham, Ala., the three-level, 185,000-sq.-ft. store will be the company's first location in Alabama as well as one of the retailer’s largest stores in the country.

  • Rent-A-Center opens Hawaii store

    Wichita, Kan. – Rent-A-Center has opened a new store in Kihei, Hawaii. The new Rent-A-Center is located at 1215 S. Kihei Rd., Ste. 3.

    “We’re very excited to be here in Kihei,” said store manager Robyn Idemoto. “We’ve gotten a great response from the community. Everyone’s like family out here, and I really like that. I feel that we can bring a lot of positivity to the community.”
