  • Wayfair files for a $350 million IPO

    Boston -- Wayfair filed its paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday to raise as much as $350 million on the public market.

    The Boston-based online homegoods retailer posted a loss last year of $15.5 million, and the loss was $51.4 million in the last six months. Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Citigroup are leading up the underwriting for the IPO, along with Allen & Co., Pacific Crest Securities, Piper Jaffray, Wells Fargo Securities, Canaccord Genuity, Cowen and Co., and Raymond James.

  • Fred Segal to occupy all retail space at new SLS Las Vegas resort

    New York -- Fred Segal will open The Fred Segal Collective, a multi-store retail experience, at SLS Las Vegas as part of the hotel’s opening on Aug. 23. In an unusual move, the brand will occupy all of the retail space in the resort.

    The Collective will be integrated throughout the entire SLS experience, creating shopping opportunities from the pool to the casino and dining areas. It will encompass nearly 10,000 sq. ft., with seven individual stores, including She, He, Jeans, Shoes, Jewels, Play and Goods.
     

  • Rappaport signs trio of 7-Eleven deals in Washington, D.C., area

    McLean, Va. --  Rappaport has signed three new 7-Eleven deals in the Washington, D.C., area totaling 9,471 sq. ft. of retail space. 7-Eleven will open new locations inside The Shops of Avondale in Washington D.C., 2001 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia, and 6138 Kings Highway in Alexandria, Virginia.
         

  • Velocity Retail Group secures At Home store for Arizona Mills

    Phoenix -- X Team International partner Velocity Retail Group has completed a lease with At Home for a 104,967-sq.-ft. store in Tempe, Arizona. The new At Home concept is owned and operated by home décor retailer Garden Ridge.
         
    A décor superstore that provides selections of patio furniture, wall décor, and decorative accents, rugs and housewares, At Home recently opened at Arizona Mills, a Simon shopping center located at the northeast corner of Baseline Road and Interstate 10.

  • Salon Plaza to open at Worldgate Centre

    Herndon, Va. -- Salon Plaza has leased a 7,659-sq.-ft. endcap space next to McAlister’s Deli at Worldgate Centre in Herndon and plans to open in fall 2014. This will be the salon chain’s 21st location nationwide.

    Kristin Perry of Rappaport represented the landlord in the transaction. Worldgate Centre features an AMC Theatre and fitness club Sport and Health. Co-tenants include TGI Friday’s, Starbucks, Tara Thai, FedEx Kinkos, Vocelli Pizza and Cold Stone Creamery.

     

     

  • Boutique brand Hotel Indigo will make a home at Celebration Pointe

    Gainesville, Fla. -- Hip hotel brand Hotel Indigo has inked a deal to open a 120-room boutique property at mixed-use project Celebration Pointe, in Gainesville, Florida. The InterContinental Hotel Group’s banner will bring boutique style to a neighborhood that has garnered attention for its urban style, featuring a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, inspired architectural features and abundant green space.

  • Kohl’s has flat Q2; plans four new stores

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Kohl’s Corp. had a relatively flat second quarter of fiscal 2014 compared to the same period the previous year. Net income slightly rose to $232 million from $231 million, while sales fell 1% to $4.24 billion from $4.28 billion.

    Same-store sales dropped 1.1%, although Kohl’s said they turned positive in July. Kohl’s plans to open four new stores in fall 2014, including one store which was temporarily closed in the first quarter for a complete re-build.

     

  • Amazon grows California operations

    Amazon plans to open a fifth California fulfillment center in Redlands. Since opening its first fulfillment center in the state less than two years ago, Amazon has expanded its presence to nearly 5 million sq. ft. Amazon’s other California fulfillment centers are located in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Patterson and Tracy.
