  • Report: San Francisco has lowest retail vacancy rate in the U.S.

    New York -- Prospects for stellar rent growth and low vacancy helped make San Francisco the top-ranked city, followed by New York, in Marcus & Millichap’s 2015 National Retail Index, an annual real estate ranking of 46 major U.S. markets. Rounding out the top five: San Jose (#3); Austin (#4) and San Diego (#5).

  • Las Plazas at Old Vail breaks ground

    Tucson, Ariz. -- A 17-acre parcel of land at the northwest corner of Houghton and Old Vail Roads in southeastern Tucson, Arizona, is slated to become a new retail and restaurant hub. The site work has begun at Las Plazas at Old Vail, in the form of under-ground utilities, grading, retention/detention, common drive aisles, landscaping, curbs and parking lot lighting.

  • David’s Tea files for IPO; sees potential for 300 U.S. stores

    New York -- Watch out Teavana, Canada’s David’s Tea Inc. is looking to boost its U.S. presence. The Quebec-based chain has filed a registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an IPO in which it looks to raise a maximum of $75 million. The company plans to list on the Nasdaq with the ticker symbol "DTEA.”

  • Dunkin’ Donuts to open seven new Illinois stores

    Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts has signed multi-unit store development agreements with two existing franchise groups to develop seven restaurants in Illinois during the next several years. The two franchise groups and their development plans include:

  • Century 21 to open first non-Northeast location

    Century 21, the coveted off-price store beloved by fashionistas in the Northeast, has announced that it will be heading south for its next location.

    Century 21 will be opening an approximately 85,000-square-foot store – the first anywhere in the nation outside of the Northeast – at Sawgrass Mills in South Florida in the fall of 2016.

  • Mid-America handles sale of Summit Crossing

    Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Summit Crossing located in Crown Point, Indiana. The 11,859-sq.-ft. center was purchased by a California-based private investor for $3.2 million.
     
    Summit Crossing is located at the southeast corner of Route 55 and East Summit Street in Crown Point, in the Chicago MSA. The 100% leased center features a tenant mix that includes ATI Physical Therapy, Advance Auto Parts, Supercuts and Starbucks.

  • Century 21 to expand beyond Northeast with store in Florida

    New York -- Legendary Manhattan off-price retailer Century 21 will open its first store outside its Northeast home base, at Sawgrass Mills, Sunrise, Florida. The 85,000-sq.-ft. store is set to open in the fall of 2016.

  • Cabela's looks to open its eighth Canadian store

    New York -- Cabela’s is looking to grow its Canadian operations with a new store in British Columbia.

    Cabela’s could begin construction in Abbotsford, B.C., this year, and could open in fall 2016. The proposed store site is located at 1880 McCallum Road in the newly planned McCallum Junction development off Exit 90 of Trans-Canada Highway 1. McCallum Junction Properties Inc. is the developer.
