  • Hooters to debut in Ventura County

    Thousand Oaks, Calif. -- NewMark Merrill Cos. announced the May 13 opening of the first Hooters Restaurant in Ventura County at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    The new 5,700-sq.-ft. restaurant is located near Burlington Coat Factory and features seating for 230 guests. 

    Hooters is the newest tenant to join Regency Theaters, Toys “R” Us, Old Navy, Marshall’s, Buca di Beppo, Panera Bread, Burlington Coat Factory and other national, regional and community tenants at Janss Marketplace. 

  • Sabre arranges 20,000 sq. ft. of retail leases

    Garden City, N.Y. -- Sabre Real Estate Group said it has arranged five retail leases on Long Island totaling almost 20,000 sq. ft.

    In Commack, N.Y., women’s apparel retailer Bolton’s leased 2,500 sq. ft. in the Mayfair Shopping Center for a store that is expected to open in June. Levin Management Corp., of Plainfield, N.J., owns the shopping center.

  • Costco opens new club in Huntington Beach

    Huntington Beach, Calif. -- DJM Capital Partners said that a new 154,000-sq.-ft. Costco has opened at Bella Terra, an open-air center in Huntington Beach, Calif. Costco opened in a building vacated by Mervyn’s.

    Costco at Bella Terra is a full-format store offering Gas Station, Fresh Bakery, Fresh Meat, Fresh Produce, Fresh Deli with Rotisserie Chicken, Optical Department, 1-Hour Photo, Pharmacy, Tire Center, Hearing Aid Center, Fine Wine & Liquor and Food Court.

  • ATCO acquires California Whole Foods outpost

    New York -- Manhattan-based ATCO Properties & Management said it has acquired a Whole Foods retail location in Mill Valley, Calif., for $17.3 million.

    Situated within the Alto Shopping Center on Mill Valley’s North side, the 23,200-sq.-ft. store opened a year ago and has established itself as one of the chain’s best performers, according to ATCO senior VP Damon Hemmerdinger.

  • MinuteClinic expands presence in San Antonio

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- MinuteClinic announced on Thursday the debut of two walk-in medical clinics inside CVS/pharmacy stores located in San Antonio,Texas.

    The retail clinic operator, which opened its doors in the Lone Star state in 2006, now operates 45 clinics inside select CVS/pharmacy stores in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio markets. In addition to the two clinics, a third is slated to open later this year.
     

  • Gordmans Q1 net income rises 10%, to open five stores in 2012

    Omaha, Neb. -- Midwestern discount department store retailer Gordman’s Stores said Friday that profit for the quarter ended April 28 rose 10.6% to $8.1 million, compared with $7.3 million in the year-ago period.

    Sales rose 13.8% to $133.9 million, from $117.7 million. Same-store sales climbed 4.7%.

    “We are pleased with our overall performance and remain confident in our ability to realize our sales and profit guidance for fiscal 2012," said Jeff Gordman, president and CEO.

  • Lindt opens Fifth Avenue flagship, plans for growth

    New York -- Chocolatier Lindt said Thursday it has opened its new flagship Lindt Chocolate boutique in the landmark Rolex building on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

    The 1,245-sq.-ft. store features a comprehensive chocolate selection, as well as Lindt Chocolate Advisors to educate and guide customers through the full experience.

    The new store represents Lindt's second Fifth Avenue location and heralds a period of growth and expansion for the company's direct to consumer business.
