  • Krispy Kreme kicks off Atlanta metro area expansion

    Winston-Salem, N.C. — A new Krispy Kreme Doughnut Factory will open in Roswell, Ga., in early September, marking the start of an expansion effort across the metro area. The new shop will replace the existing Roswell shop and introduce the company’s updated design to the area.

    Construction plans are currently underway for approved sites in Doraville, Smyrna and Stockbridge. Krispy Kreme is also working to secure sites in Decatur and Duluth.

     

  • Grand opening for NOLA’s Mid-City Market

    New York -- Stirling Properties has opened the Mid-City Market in New Orleans, the firm’s largest group-up retail development in the city. A 54,390-sq.-ft Winn-Dixie anchors the 108,763-sq.-ft. shopping center. Stirling estimates that the center will generate annual retail sales of more than $61 million.

  • Vera Bradley expands Indiana campus

    Fort Wayne, Ind. – Vera Bradley is expanding its Roanoke, Ind., campus, creating what the vertical specialty retailer estimates will be about 128 new jobs during the next four years. The company will invest approximately $26.6 million to expand both its current 40,000-sq.-ft. design center by 149,000 sq. ft. and its 420,000-sq.-ft. distribution center by 10,000 sq. ft. Both complexes are located just outside Fort Wayne, Ind., near Interstate 69.

  • Taubman Prestige Outlets opens in St. Louis suburb

    Chesterfield, Mo. -- Taubman Centers announced the opening of Taubman Prestige Oulets, a new fashion outlet center, located in the western-St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield. The opening coincides with Missouri’s Tax-Free Weekend.

  • Report: India eases investment for foreign retailers

    New Delhi, India – The Indian government has eased its notoriously difficult restrictions on how foreign retailers must invest and source when doing business in the country. As reported by Reuters, foreign retailers will still have to source 30% of the products they sell locally, but now have five years to initially reach that goal and then have to meet it annually.

  • CVS/Pharmacy opens at Parkesburg, Pa., center

    Parkesburg, Pa. — CVS/Pharmacy recently opened a 7,940-sq.-ft. store at the Parkesburg Shopping Center in Parkesburg, Pa. CVS purchased the business of the location’s previous occupant, Longenecker Pharmacy, an independent, family-owned chain.

    The 56,652-sq.-ft. development is exclusively leased and managed by Levin management www.levinmgt.com. The center serves a population of more than 34,600 people within a five-mile radius. Average household income is more than $67,500. Daily traffic count is about 23,800 vehicles.

     

  • El Balcon De Las Americas signs into Pembroke Pines, Fla.

    MiamiEl Balcon de las Americas is bringing its Colombian food menu to Westfork Plaza in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

    Terranova Corp. represented the shopping center in the transaction. The 2,335-sq.-ft. location at Westfork Plaza is the young chain’s fifth location in South Florida.
