  • Michaels coming to Mill Creek Mall in New Jersey

    New Rochelle, N.Y. – Welco Realty Inc. has leased 21,500-sq.-ft. of retailer space to Michaels Stores Inc. at The Mill Creek Mall at Harmon Meadow in Secaucus, N.J. Jerry Welkis, a principal of Welco Realty, represented the landlord, Hartz Mountain Industries.
     
    The tenant was represented by Jamie Sackeim of The Dartmouth Company.  Other tenants in the center are PetSmart and Marshall’s/Home Goods. Adjacent tenants include Bob’s Furniture, Sports Authority, T.J.Maxx, Toys / Babies R Us, and Kohl’s.
     

  • Gap moving into Times Square in a big way

    New York -- It’s official: Toys “R” Us is moving out of Times Square and Gap is moving in, but not just with one store.

    Gap is planning to open two separate flagships, one for its namesake brand the other for Old Navy, in the space now occupied by Toys “R” Us.

    “We're pleased to confirm our plans to construct our newest Gap and Old Navy flagship stores in one of one of the world's most well-known locations – Times Square,” the company said.

  • Eddie Bauer comes to Legacy Place center in Massachusetts

    Dedham, Mass. – The Legacy Place shopping center is opening an Eddie Bauer location on July 2. The Legacy Place store will feature outerwear, apparel, footwear, gear, and accessories for men and women.

    “Eddie Bauer not only enhances the overall merchandise mix of the center, it also adds another reason to make Legacy Place your first choice shopping destination” said Beth Winbourne, general manager, Legacy Place.

  • Godwin plaza in New Jersey to undergo renovation

    Midland Park, N.J. – The 22,000-sq.-ft. Godwin Plaza mixed-use center is to undergo a major renovation and repositioning beginning in the second half of this year. The center was purchased in 2014 by Accordia Realty Ventures of Fairfield, New Jersey with the intention of transforming it.

  • Sears Canada closes sales and leaseback of three stores

    Toronto - Sears Canada Inc. has closed a transaction to sell and leaseback three properties to Concord Pacific Group of Companies. The transaction, originally announced on March 11, 2015, has closed for total proceeds of $140 million.

  • Florida's Sawgrass Mills to get a full-price addition

    Simon is expanding the hugely successful Sawgrass Mills outlet and entertainment center in Florida by adding a new, full-price component.

  • Macy’s Backstage signs lease at Fordham Place in the Bronx

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- Retail Properties of America Inc. announced that Macy’s new off-price format, Macy’s Backstage, has signed a 35,200-sq.-ft. lease at Fordham Place in the Bronx, New York, as RPAI continues to execute on its remerchandising strategy of upgrading its tenancy and enhancing the dominance of its shopping centers.

  • X Team partner Strategic Retail Advisors completes lease for Charming Charlie flagship

    Framingham, Mass. -- X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors with expertise in more than 45 major markets throughout the U.S. and Canada, announced that partner, Strategic Retail Advisors (SRA), a retail real estate consulting and brokerage firm focused on tenant representation throughout the Northeast, has successfully negotiated a lease on behalf of accessories retailer Charming Charlie.
