  • Footlocker opens at Hancock Center

    Austin, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said that Footlocker has opened at Hancock Center, located in Austin, Texas. The retailer opened a 2,946-sq.-ft. store, and will be joined by Family Chiropractic, which is slated to open an 1,100-sq.-ft. center in November.

    The 410,437-sq.-ft. neighborhood center is anchored by a 90,217-sq.-ft. H-E-B alongside national retailers such as Petco, Quiznos and 24 Hour Fitness.
     

  • Dick's Sporting Goods opens two New York stores

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners announced that Dick’s Sporting Goods has executed leases and opened stores with affiliates of Forest City Enterprises at two projects in Metro New York.

    A 49,286-sq.-ft. Dick’s opened at Forest City Ratner’s Ridge Hill project in Yonkers, N.Y., anchoring the one million-sq.-ft. center.

    A 35,685-sq.-ft. Dick’s also opened in Staten Island, in a freestanding location in front of Staten Island Mall.

  • Saks Off 5th to close in Morrisville, N.C.

    New York City -- Saks plans to close its 20,000-sq.-ft. Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th store in Triangle Factory Outlets in Morrisville, N.C., (metropolitan Raleigh) by Jan. 1.

    The company opened a 30,000-sq.-ft. Off 5th location in Tanger Outlet Center of the Piedmont in nearby Mebane, N.C., in 2010, which will serve as a replacement store for the closing location. The new Mebane store was designed in the chain’s loft” format that debuted in 2008 and which redefined and elevated the outlet shopping experience.

  • Multiple stores to open at Stirling Bossier

    Bossier City, La. -- Covington, La.-based Stirling Properties, developer and property manager of Stirling Bossier Shopping Center, in Bossier City, La., announced the addition of Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Maurices, Mattress Firm, The Joint and GNC to the center’s tenant lineup.

  • Brixmor announces opening of 32 Halloween-themed stores

    New York City -- Brixmor Property Group US said Tuesday that 21 leases have been executed with Spirit Halloween and 11 leases with Halloween City across Brixmor’s property portfolio. 

    The seasonal stores are scheduled to be open through Halloween, and include shopping centers in 19 states.

  • TIAA-CREF and CBL close $1.09-billion JV

    Chattanooga, Tenn. -- TIAA-CREF and CBL & Associates Properties have announced the closing of their $1.09 billion real estate joint venture to invest in market-dominant shopping malls.

    TIAA-CREF has completed its investment in four of CBL’s market-dominant shopping malls: Oak Park Mall in Kansas City, Kan.; West County Center in St. Louis; CoolSprings Galleria in Nashville; and Pearland Town Center in Pearland, Texas.

  • Report: U.S. mall vacancy rate at 9.4%

    New York City -- Vacancies at U.S. regional shopping malls rose to 9.4% in the third quarter (ended Sept. 30), according to property-research firm Reis, Reuters reported. It represents the highest level since Reis began publishing the data in 2000, and was up from 9.3% in the second quarter.

    Landlords' asking mall rents rose to $38.81 per square foot in the third quarter, up from $38.77 in the previous three months and $38.72 a year earlier, according to Reis.

  • Edible Arrangements open at Kmart Plaza

    Elizabethtown, Ky. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 1,200-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Edible Arrangements at Kmart Plaza, located in Elizabethtown, Ky.

    New York City-based Brixmor is the owner of Kmart Plaza.
