  • Japanese Haute Cuisine opening in Nolita

    New York -- Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said Monday it has arranged a lease at 55 Spring Street, between Lafayette and Mulberry Streets, for Eight Turn Crepe, a Japanese-based restaurant chain.

    The opening marks the quick-serve chain’s U.S. debut.
     
    The space was previously occupied by Choco Bolo.

     

  • Eisenhower Square sees tenant additions

    Savannah, Ga. -- Brixmor Property Group announced the recent openings of a 34,103-sq.-ft. Save-A-Lot and a 1,000-sq.-ft. Maison De Macarons at Eisenhower Square, located in Savannah, Ga.

    Also, a lease has been executed for an 8,640-sq.-ft. Generation One, a hospital-based, senior-related healthy aging program.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Eisenhower Square.

     

  • DDR names David Oakes president

    Beachwood, Ohio -- DDR Corp. announced that senior executive VP and CFO David J. Oakes has been named president of the company, effective Jan. 1.
     
    Oakes will remain CFO, and will continue to report to CEO Daniel B. Hurwitz.
     
    Oakes joined DDR as executive VP of finance and chief investment officer in April 2007. He was promoted to senior EVP finance and chief investment officer in December 2008, and CFO in February 2010.

     

  • GGP’s warrants acquired by Brookfield affiliates

    Chicago -- General Growth Properties said Thursday it was informed by Brookfield Asset Management that affiliates of Brookfield acquired the GGP warrants held by affiliates of Pershing Square Capital Management.

    The warrants represent the right to acquire 18.43 million shares of GGP stock at a value of $0.01 per share.

    General Growth also said it has been offered by Brookfield the right to acquire the warrants, for the same price of $271.88 million paid by Brookfield, within the next 30 days.

     

  • Wags To Riches to relocate to Plaza Sonora

    Tucson, Ariz. -- Commercial Retail Advisors said that Wags To Riches Pet Grooming Salon has signed a new lease for 900 sq. ft. in Plaza Sonora and plans to relocate there in March 2013.

    Wags To Riches has two pet grooming salons in the Tucson area.

     

  • Forecast: Value stores, luxury shops, restaurants to lead retail development in 2013

    Chicago -- The value and luxury classes of retail will supply the most construction opportunities in 2013, according to a forecast by Englewood Construction. The Lemont, Ill.-based commercial builder also predicted an uptick in restaurant development and a squeeze on middle-market retail.

  • Dress Barn to open at Rockland Plaza

    Nanuet, N.Y. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Dress Barn will open a 7,572-sq.-ft. store at Rockland Plaza, located in Nanuet, N.Y.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Rockland Plaza.

  • Pet Supplies Plus opens at The Shops at Blue Bell

    Blue Bell, Pa. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Pet Supplies Plus has opened a 7,650-sq.-ft. store at The Shops at Blue Bell, located in Blue Bell, Pa.

    Levin is the exclusive leasing and management agent for the 103,000-sq.-ft. shopping center, which is anchored by Giant supermarket and tenanted by IHOP, Sovereign Bank, GNC, Supercuts and Planet Beach, among others.
