Tenant Update

Chestnut Hill, Mass., and Greensboro, N.C. — Tanger Factory Outlet Centers and WS Development have announced plans to partner on the development of an upscale outlet center in Cheshire, Conn. The two companies will co-own the center, which is now in the pre-development stage.

Located at the I-691 and Route 10 interchange, the site features visibility and convenience.

Beachwood, Ohio — DDR Corp. has announced that it sold 14 non-prime assets in the first quarter for gross proceeds of $198 million. The company’s share of the proceeds totaled $142 million. In addition, DDR currently counts 14 non-prime operating assets valued at $97 million and $36 million of non-income producing assets currently under contract. DDR expects its share of the proceeds from these transactions to come to $103.

Westmont, Ill. — Tri-Land Properties has announced that it expects to complete a $21 million renovation of its 20-acre Fridley Market community center by September. Fridley Market is located at the intersection of I-694 and University Avenue, the main north/south spine through Minneapolis-St. Paul.

The renovation of the 165,000-sq.-ft. center includes building, infrastructure, lighting and pavement improvements as well as new construction.

Virginia Beach, Va. — Divaris Real Estate has announced the signing of two new leases for a combined 7,700 sq. ft. and one lease renewal for 3,612 sq. ft. in the greater Richmond area.

Sherwin Williams signed a new lease for 6,000 sq. ft. of retail space in the Town Hall Shopping Center in Colonial Heights, Va. DRE’s Richmond office represented the tenant in the transaction.

Chicago — Simon Property Group has awarded the leasing assignment for a trio of shopping centers totaling more than one million sq. ft. to JLL. Each is located at prime intersections in the southern suburbs of Chicago. They include:

• Country Side Plaza in Countryside, Ill. Anchored by Home Depot and Value City Furniture, the 400,000-sq.-ft. center has junio anchor and small shop space available.

Tempe, Ariz. — DSW, Nordstrom Rack and Total Wine & More have leased space at the 1.3 million-sq.-ft. Tempe Marketplace in Tempe, Ariz.

DSW will open a 20,000-sq.-ft. store in mid April. Nordstrom Rack plans to open a 35,000-sq.-ft. store in October. Total Wine & More, the largest independent fine wine retailer in the country, will occupy 20,000 sq. ft. and plans to open in October.

Burlington, Mass. — New England regional fitness company, Wow! WorkOut World has subleased an 18,474-sq.-ft. space at Pawcatuck Shopping Center in Pawcatuck, Conn. KeyPoint Partners negotiated the sublease on behalf of its client Stop & Shop.

Pawcatuck Shopping Center is a convenience-oriented center with a variety of local tenants and a Rite Aid pharmacy.

The KeyPoint Partners leasing team handles leasing for retail properties totaling nearly six million sq. ft.
