  • RCS retained by Diamond Wireless for portfolio optimization and more

    New York -- RCS Real Estate Advisors said Tuesday it has been retained by Diamond Wireless, a mall-based retailer and one of six National Premium retailers for Verizon Wireless, to provide advice and performance analysis to the retailer in the management of its real estate portfolio.

    As Diamond Wireless continues to expand nationally, RCS said it is charged with ensuring that Diamond’s current and future site selections, which include both inline stores and kiosks, deliver the highest and best value and efficiencies available in the mall marketplace today.

  • Rose Paving hosts Open House at new branch office

    Bridgeview, Ill. -- Rose Paving Co. hosted an open house at its branch office in Norcross, Ga., on June 21. The event  celebrated the company's new office in Norcross and expansion in the Southeast.

  • Safeway in Bozeman, Mont., awarded LEED Silver

    New York -- Safeway’s store in Bozeman, Mont., was recently awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the first LEED for Retail certified store in the state of Montana, and one of roughly 200 LEED-certified grocery stores in the United States.

  • CKE plans to expand Hardee’s in Minneapolis market

    Carpinteria, Calif. -- CKE Restaurants is planning to expand its Hardee's footprint in the Minneapolis area over the next several years and sees the potential to develop more than 59 new restaurants in the market.

    “We are excited to expand in the Minneapolis area, and we're now looking for experienced multi-unit operators to join the brand,” said Jim Sullivan, CKE's senior VP domestic franchise development.

  • Do it Best breaks ground on new DC

    Sikeston, Mo. -- Do it Best Corp. has broke ground in Sikeston, Mo., at the site of what will be the co-op’s newest and most technologically advanced distribution center.

    In addition to increased size, the new center will feature a number of new technological advances and initiatives, including a new voice pick system, which has virtually eliminated order filling errors and will help maximize workflow.

  • CBRE: Hong Kong and New York are world’s most expensive retail destinations

    London -- Hong Kong is the world’s most expensive retail destination, with retail rents at $3,864 per square foot, according to the quarterly rankings of global retail rents from global property advisor CBRE Group. CBRE cited the city’s significant inbound tourist traffic and continued increases in domestic wealth as fueling demand from international fashion and luxury retailers.
     

  • Target Canada openings confirmed

    Minneapolis -- Target on Thursday confirmed the list of the stores that it intends to open across Canada in 2013.

    As previously reported, Target purchased the leasehold interests of 189 sites currently operated by Zellers, and is slated to open 125 to 135 stores in Canada, the majority of which will open in 2013.

    The latest announcement confirms the first 125 stores that will open in 2013, and later this year, Target will confirm additional store locations that will open starting in early 2014 and beyond.

  • PetSmart to open new DC in Berks County

    Harrisburg, Pa. -- Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett said Thursday that PetSmart will open a new distribution center in Bethel Township, Berks County, Pa.
     
    PetSmart will construct an 870,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Berks Park 78, a new industrial park located in Bethel Township. The company will start construction on the $50 million distribution center in the fall of 2012, with completion expected in first quarter 2014.

    The project is expected to create at least 500 new jobs by 2016.
