  • Two new Nordstrom Racks in the works

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced plans to open two new Nordstrom Rack stores, with one in Atlanta, at the Perimeter Expo shopping center, which is owned by Kimco Realty Corp., and the other in Naples, Fla., at The Mercato.

    The 36,000-sq,-ft. Atlanta store is scheduled to open in fall 2013. The 30,000-sq.-ft. Naples store is scheduled to open in fall 2013.

  • Construction starts on Woodhaven Plaza in Old Bridge, N.J.

    Old Bridge, N.J. -- Construction and leasing are now under way on Woodhaven Plaza, a new neighborhood shopping center in Old Bridge, N.J.

  • Uniqlo spreads U.S. roots

    NEW YORK — Value priced apparel and accessories retailer Uniqlo continues its U.S. expansion with the opening of two stores in the Northeast.

    The global clothing retailer is strengthening its toehold on the Northeast with two new stores opening at Palisades Center in West Nyack, N.Y., and Westchester’s Ridge Hill in Yonkers, N.Y., by spring 2013.

  • Uniqlo to open at New York’s Palisades Center and Westchester’s Ridge Hill

    New York -- Uniqlo, a division of Japan’s Fast Retailing Co., will continue its U.S. expansion strategy by opening two new mall locations, at Palisades Center in West Nyack, N.Y., and Westchester’s Ridge Hill in Yonkers, N.Y. Both stores are slated to open in spring 2013.

    At 24,000 total sq. ft., the Uniqlo store in Palisades Center will open in early March. (Palisades Center is the eighth largest mall in the nation.)

  • Glimcher acquires University Park Village for $105 million

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust announced Monday the acquisition of University Park Village, an open-air center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 173,220-sq.-ft. center is 97% occupied, generates sales of more than $800/sq. ft., and is tenanted by Apple, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Lululemon Athletica and Madewell, among others.

    Glimcher purchased University Park Village for $105 million.

  • Party City to open at North Dover shopping center

    Dover, Del. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Party City will open a 12,000-sq.-ft. store at North Dover Shopping Center, located in Dover, Del.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of the shopping center.

     

  • Cellairis opens first in-line store location

    Atlanta -- Wireless accessory retailer Cellairis said Tuesday it has opened its first in-line store at North Point Mall in Alpharetta, Ga.

    Operating over 700 kiosks in malls across the country, the company is launching this new model in order to provide consumers with a more robust retail experience, it said.

    The opening is the first in a company-wide initiative to implement a new store design, which features multimedia displays.
