  • Schnuck Markets to open two new stores in Evansville, Ind., area

    Evansville, Ind. — Schnuck Markets plans to open two stores and remodel three locations in southwest Indiana, the supermarket chain said Tuesday.

    Schnucks said it planned to invest more than $11 million in Evansville, Ind., which is the largest city in southwest Indiana. Chairman and CEO Scott Schnuck announced the plans at the Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting and dinner.

  • PBTeen opens Chicagoland store

    San Francisco – Williams-Sonoma retail brand PBTeen is opening its second store in the Chicagoland area in Oakbrook, Ill., on Sept. 26. The store will operate as a combined location with sister brand Pottery Barn Kids.

  • Academy Sports + Outdoors to enter Memphis area

    Katy, Texas -- Academy Sports + Outdoors will open its first Memphis-area store on Sept. 27, in Collierville, Tenn. In conjunction with the opening, Academy has signed a multi-year partnership with The University of Memphis and its athletics multimedia rights holder, Tiger Sports Properties.

    The new 73,000-sq.-ft. Collierville store will be Academy's eighth store in Tennessee.

    Rockville, Md. -- Mom’s Organic Market is opening its first Pennsylvania store, in Rosemont Square, Bryn Mawr, which is located outside of Philadelphia.

  • CBRE Group appoints global president of capital markets

    Los Angeles — CBRE Group has appointed Chris Ludeman global president of Capital Markets.

    Ludeman will oversee the global growth and integration of CBRE’s Capital Markets Service business line, which includes Investment Sales, Debt & Structure Finance and Capital Advisors activities worldwide, working with CBRE’s Capital Markets leaders around he world.

    A 33-year veteran of CBRE, Ludeman most recently served as president of the Capital Markets business in the Americas.

     

  • McAlister’s Deli names franchise vet chief development officer

    Alpharetta, Ga. – McAlister’s Deli has named Jeff Sturgis as chief development officer. Sturgis has more than 17 years of experience in the franchise industry, including working as a consultant as well as senior management and development positions with Fantastic Sams Hair Salons and Focus Brands.

    Sturgis will lead development functions including franchise sales, real estate, store design and construction.

  • DSW announces new store in Eatontown, N.J.

    Columbus, Ohio — Designer Show Warehouse will open a new store in Eatontown, N.J. on Sept. 26.

    The company currently operates 383 stores in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. DSW also supplies footwear to 355 leased locations in the U.S.
