  • Streets of St. Charles names new tenant

    St. Charles, Mo. -- Cullinan Properties announced that Streets of St. Charles, a mixed-use development located in St. Charles, Missouri, will add Orangetheory Fitness to its tenant line up.

    Orangetheory Fitness will occupy 3,000 sq. ft. of space on Beale Street, next to Wasabi Sushi Bar. Construction is anticipated to begin in early April, and the estimated opening date is this fall.

  • Ross Stores expands Chicago footprint

    Ross Dress for Less on March 5 opened two new stores in the Chicago area.

    The retailer opened a 27,000-sq.-ft. location in Berwyn, in Cermak Plaza, nine miles west of downtown Chicago at the southeast corner of West Cermak Road and Harlem Avenue.

    It also opened an Archer Heights location, a 25,000-sq.-ft. store in the Pulaski Promenade, nine miles southwest of downtown Chicago at the northwest corner of 42nd Place and Pulaski Road.

  • Ikea expanding in the Southwest

    Ikea on track to make its Nevada debut this spring.

    The home furnishings retailer will open a store in Las Vegas, on Wednesday, May 18. It will be the Swedish company’s first location in Nevada, and 42nd in the United States.

    The 351,000-sq.-ft. Las Vegas Ikea is being built on 26 acres along the northern side of the 215 Beltway at Durango Drive, near Sunset Road.

    The store will host Nevada’s largest single-use retail rooftop solar array, consistent with the solar presence at 90% of its U.S. locations.

  • The Wilder Companies awarded new shopping center leasing and management contract

    White Plains, N.Y. -- The Wilder Companies announced it was awarded the leasing and management contract for The Source at White Plains, a specialty shopping center in White Plains, New York.

    The Source at White Plains is a 250,000 sq. ft., four-story shopping center with adjoining parking garage. The center feature retailers include: Whole Foods Market, Dicks Sporting Goods, Raymour & Flanigan, The Cheesecake Factory, Morton’s The Steakhouse, and Destination Maternity.

  • CBL announces multi-million dollar renovation of CoolSprings Galleria

    Chattanooga, Tenn. -- CBL & Associates Properties announced renovation plans for CoolSprings Galleria in Nashville, Tennessee. The renovation comes on the heels of a major anchor redevelopment completed in early 2015, the recent addition of dining destination Connors Steak & Seafood, and the opening of Kings Bowling and Entertainment in May.

  • Tanger eyes checkered flag with latest project

    The newest addition to a Texas-sized mixed-used development taking shape north of Fort Worth is a 350,000-sq.-ft. retail project from Tanger Factory Outlet Centers.

  • Starbucks opens first-of-a-kind store in Queens, New York

    Starbucks on Monday opened a store in the Jamaica section of Queens, New York, which has a strong job training component.

    The location is the first in a nationwide initiative Starbucks announced last summer to open stores in at least 15 diverse urban communities across the United States by 2018, with the aim to create new jobs, engage local women and minority-owned vendors and suppliers, and collaborate with local nonprofits to support training opportunities for youth in the individual communities.

  • Ikea plans more expansion in California

    Ikea had submitted plans to build its ninth store in the state of California, in the Bay Area suburb of Dublin.

    Pending approvals, Ikea could begin construction of the store in spring 2017, with an opening in summer 2018. The retailer plans to evaluate potential on-site power generation to complement its current U.S. renewable energy presence at nearly 90% of its U.S. locations.
