  • Sbarro to open six Illinois Tollway Oases locations

    Chicago -- U.S. Equities Realty said that Sbarro will open six new quick-service Italian restaurants at the Illinois Tollway Oases.

    Sbarro restaurants will open at the Belvidere, Des Plaines, Hinsdale, Lake Forest, Lincoln and O’Hare Oases, and will vary in size from 700 sq. ft. to 1,240 sq. ft., for a total of 6,360 sq. ft.

  • LEED building projects total 1 billion sq. ft.

    Washington, D.C. -- The total footprint of commercial projects certified under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System has surpassed 1 billion sq. ft.

    Another 6 billion sq. ft. of projects are registered and currently working toward LEED certification worldwide. Since it was first introduced to the marketplace in 2000, more than 36,000 commercial projects have participated in LEED.
     

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods opens at The Fountains

    Beachwood, Ohio -- Developers Diversified Realty Corp. announced the opening of Dick's Sporting Goods at The Fountains, a completely redeveloped 477,343-sq.-ft. community shopping center located in Plantation, Fla.

    Dick's Sporting Goods joins Kohl's, which opened in 2009, as one of the first new tenants at the redeveloped center. In addition, Jo-Ann fabric and craft stores will open a 20,000-sq.-ft. store and Lime Fresh Mexican Grill will open a 2,160-sq.-ft. restaurant early in 2011. The center also features Marshalls and HomeGoods and is 93% leased.

  • Regency Centers scores high in Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Shopping center owner and developer Regency Centers announced Tuesday it has been ranked in the top quintile of 280 publicly traded companies headquartered in the Southeastern U.S. for its environmental, social, and governance factors and policies. 

    Regency received the honor as part of the first annual Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings performed by Boston-based KLD Research and Analytics.

  • Dick's Sporting Goods Q3 profit falls

    Pittsburgh -- Dick’s Sporting Goods’ net income for the quarter ended Oct. 30 dropped to $16.9 million, compared with net income of $18.9 million for the year-ago period.

    Sales rose 9% to $1.08 billion, from $990 million.

    Same-store sales increased 5.1%, with a 3.8% increase in Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, a 2.4% increase in Golf Galaxy and an 82.4% increase in e-commerce.

  • American Eagle Outfitters set to unveil SoHo flagship

    New York City -- American Eagle Outfitters will open second flagship in Manhattan. The new SoHo store will open Tuesday, Nov. 9.

  • McShane Construction awarded parking deck project at Randhurst Village

    Rosemont, Ill. -- McShane Construction Co. said Tuesday it has been awarded a three-story, 586-space parking structure project on behalf of developer Casto Lifestyle Properties. 

    The new construction assignment is located at Randhurst Village in Mount Prospect, Ill., a 100-acre, mixed-use redevelopment project of the former Randhurst Mall that will feature retail, dining, entertainment and hospitality components.
