  • Ulta to open flagship store in Center City Philadelphia

    Philadelphia -- Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based Fameco Real Estate said that it represented Ulta Beauty in a 13,647-sq.-ft. lease at 1619 Walnut Street, the former Westinghouse studio, developed by Vesper Property Group and located in Center City, Philadelphia.

    The lease marks Ulta’s first retail location in Center City. It will open a three-level store much like its other signature urban store in Chicago.

  • Francesca’s to open at Delray Marketplace

    Delray Beach, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that Francesca’s Collections has leased 1,200 sq. ft. at Delray Marketplace, located in Delray Beach, Fla. 

    The center will open November 2012 and will be anchored by Publix and Franks Theatre/Imax. The 264,823-sq.-ft. Delray Marketplace is owned by KRG Atlantic Delray Beach, LLC. Other tenants include ROC, White House | Black Market, Apricot Lane, Bobby Chan, Jos. A. Banks, Charming Charlie and Chico’s.

  • GE Capital administrative agent on Golf Town/Golfsmith credit facility

    Norwalk, Conn. -- GE Capital said Friday that it is serving as administrative agent on a $150 million senior secured credit facility to support the combination of Golf Town and Golfsmith, owned by parent company Golfsmith International. 

    GE said the credit facility will be used to support working capital and to refinance existing debt.
     
    "GE Capital structured the financing that will enable us to make … our ongoing operations a success," said Sue Gove, president and COO of Golfsmith International. 

  • Nordstrom to open two full-line stores

    Seattle -- Nordstrom said Tuesday it will open two new full-line stores – one in Jacksonville, Fla., and the other in Woodlands, Texas.
     
    The Florida store will open at St. Johns Town Center, a Simon Property and Ben Carter-owned shopping center. The 124,000-sq.-ft. store will be two levels and is expected to open in fall 2014.

  • Divaris completes eight retail leases in central Virginia

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate said that the company completed eight lease transactions totaling more than 81,000 sq. ft. of retail space in central Virginia.

    Children’s Museum of Richmond leased 26,060 sq. ft. of retail space in the Divaris-leased Winterpock Crossing Shopping Center, located in Midlothian, Va.

    K&G Menswear signed a lease for 22,888 sq. ft. of retail space in White Oak Village, located in Richmond and owned by Forest City Commercial Group.

  • LandMark develops two CVS/Pharmacy stores in California

    Woodland Hills, Calif. -- LandMark Retail Group said it has completed the development of two CVS/Pharmacy stores in California – in Bakersfield and Palmdale.

    The Bakersfield store will be located in the newly developed Grand Island Village Shopping Center, a 90,000-sq.-ft. neighborhood center home to Chevron, Republic Bank and other small tenants.

    The Palmdale store is located in a Vallarta-anchored neighborhood shopping center and offers a drive-thru pharmacy.

  • Report: Whole Foods Market in talks to take over six leases in Boston area

    New York -- Whole Foods Market is in talks to buy or take over leases for half a dozen Johnnie’s Foodmaster locations in eastern Massachusetts, the Boston Globe reported.

    Whole Foods wants to move into six of the 10 Johnnie’s Foodmaster sites in Arlington, Brookline, Charlestown, Melrose, South Weymouth, and Somerville, the report said.

    Whole Foods currently operates 21 stores in Massachusettes.

     

  • Sears down on removal from S&P 500 New York

    New York -- Shares of Sears Holdings were under heavy selling pressure Thursday morning, sliding 7% to $53.38 on Standard & Poor's. S&P plans to remove the chain from its S&P 500 Index because the chain’s public float has has been below the index's 50% threshold for an extended period of time.

    The Sears' name, in one form or another, has been in the S&P 500 since it was created some 55 years ago. Sears will be removed from the index at the close of trading on Sept. 4. The retailer will be replaced by chemical maker LyondellBasell.
