  • Whole Food Q4 profit jumps nearly 50%

    Austin, Texas -- Whole Foods Market Inc. said Wednesday that its fiscal fourth-quarter profit increased nearly 50% on strong sales. The grocer’s company's net income rose to $112.7 million for the period ended Sept. 30, up from $75.5 million a year ago.

    Revenue rose nearly 24% to $2.91 billion, with an extra week in the most recent quarter. Same-store sales were up nearly 9%.

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods announces three new store opening

    New York -- Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. opened three stores, including one relocated store, on Nov. 7. Of the two new stores, one was located at Stoneridge Village, Jefferson City, Mo.; and the other at Spokane Valley Mall, Spokane, Wash. The retailer relocated its N. Springboro Pike store to Dayton Mall, Dayton, Ohio.

    In October, Dick’s celebrated the opening of 17 stores throughout the United States.

     

  • Tiffany to open Paris flagship

    New York -- Tiffany & Co. announced that it plans to open a flagship in Paris.

    The approximately 10,000-sq.-ft. multi-level store will be located at 62 Avenue des Champs Elysées and is expected to open in 2014.

  • DSW acquires corporate headquarters and Columbus DC

    Columbus, Ohio -- DSW Inc. announced Thursday the acquisition of 810 AC LLC, which owns the corporate headquarters of DSW, as well as its 700,000-sq.-ft. distribution center and trailer lot on its home office campus in Columbus, Ohio.

    Purchase price was $72 million.

    The company recently completed the $15 million installation of an automatic sortation facility in the distribution center to support its size replenishment program.

     

  • 7-Eleven closes deal to purchase 163 Tetco stores

    Dallas -- 7-Eleven announced that it has acquired the retail and wholesale dealer assets of San Antonio-based Tetco, closing a deal that was announced Aug. 14.

    The assets include 163 company-operated convenience stores in Utah and the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio areas of Texas.

    Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    The acquisition signals a return to San Antonio for 7-Eleven, where the company had operated stores until 1989.

  • Nordstrom Rack to make Alabama debut in 2013

    Seattle -- Nordstrom said it plans to open a Nordstrom Rack in Birmingham, Ala. This will be the retailer's first location in the state.

    The approximately 35,000-sq. ft. store is scheduled to open in spring 2013 at River Ridge Shopping Center. The center is owned and operated by DDR Corp.

     

  • Jones Lang LaSalle to lease and manage Houston County Galleria

    Centerville, Ga. -- Jones Lang LaSalle announced that Gemini Real Estate Advisors has awarded the firm the leasing and management of Houston County Galleria, a 483,893-sq.-ft. regional shopping center located in Centerville, Ga., and anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney and Sears.

    Jana Reeves will continue on as the center’s general manager, said Jones Lang LaSalle.
