  • Vintage Real Estate acquires The Mall at Whitney Field

    Leominster, Mass. -- Vintage Real Estate has purchased The Mall at Whitney Field, a 700,000-sq.-ft. regional shopping center in Leominster, Mass., about 35 miles west of Boston. Anchors include Macy’s, Sears, J.C. Penney, Market Basket, Toys “R” Us and Old Navy.

    Concurrent with the acquisition, Burlington Coat Factor signed a 10-year lease for a 66,000-sq.-ft. space formerly occupied by Circuit City.

  • JLL Report: Retail going borderless

    Atlanta -- A just-released report by Jones Lang LaSalle Retail found that three trends — in retail investing, retail expansion and e-commerce — are making national borders increasingly irrelevant to the retail industry. According to Jones Lang LaSalle’s “Global Capital Flows,” retail investment captured 25% of the total global market share of real estate investment in first quarter 2013.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle to lease and manage Shenandoah Plaza

    Atlanta -- Jones Lang LaSalle has announced that its retail group, in an exclusive deal, will lease and manage Shenandoah Plaza in Newnan, Ga. Anchoring the 146,121-sq.-ft. property are Big Lots, Rent-A-Center and Goodwill.

    The property is currently 100% occupied. John Bemis, southeast retail market lead, and Janine Christian, senior VP, will direct JLL’s team on the assignment.

     

  • CBRE negotiates sale of Carrollton Shopping Center

    Dallas -- CBRE’s Private Capital Group in Dallas has arranged the sale of Hebron Heights Shopping Center in Carrollton, Texas, for an undisclosed amount. The 59,356-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center occupies a 10-plus acre site at the corner of Hebron Parkway and Old Denton Road in northwest Dallas.

  • CBRE brokers sale of Bryan Towne Center

    Dallas -- CBRE’s National Retail Investment Group arranged the sale of Bryan Towne Center to Lamar Cos. for an undisclosed amount. The 52,268-sq.-ft. retail center serves the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area in Texas.

    Shadow-anchored by an adjacent Target store, the five-year-old center includes six acres of undeveloped land that can accommodate an additional 230,225-sq.-ft. of retail space, said CBRE.

    The center is 66% occupied. Key tenants include Dollar Tree, Rack Room Shoes, Maurice’s and rue21.

  • Royal Properties brings Heartland Brewery to historic train station

    Port Chester, N.Y. -- Royal Properties has leased 5,630 sq. ft. in the historic Port Chester, N.Y., train station to Heartland Brewery. According to Royal Properties, the lease will run for 20 years and offer a five-year option.

    Heartland will open a food hall and beer garden restaurant in the station, which was constructed in 1890. To be called Port Chester Hall, the restaurant will feature a 3,600-sq.-ft. outdoor area with seating for 85.

  • Phillips Edison-ARC names CFO

    Cincinnati -- Devin I. Murphy has joined Phillips Edison-ARC Shopping Center REIT Inc. (www.phillipsedison-arc.com) as CFO, treasurer and secretary.

    “With over 25 years of experience in the real estate investment industry, including executive leadership positions with Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Devin brings significant experience to the company,” said Jeffrey Edison, co-chairman of the board and CEO.

  • WindStar takes Papa Murphy’s to Lamar Crossing

    Arlington, Texas -- Papa Murphy’s has leased a 1,340-sq.-ft. space at Lamar Crossing Shopping Center in Arlington, Texas, according to WindStar Properties.

    The Take ‘N’ Bake pizza shop, which prepares fresh pizzas for customers to bake at home, has 1,350 shops in 38 states and ranks as the fifth largest pizza company in the United States.
