  • Ross Dress for Less opens three Indiana stores July 19

    Dublin, Calif. - Ross Dress for Less will open three new stores in Indiana on July 19. The stores include Waterford Park South Shopping Center in Clarksville, Shops on Main in Schererville, and Erskine Village in South Bend.  
        
    These new openings are part of the retailer’s 2014 expansion program, totaling approximately 75 new locations during the year.

     

  • Long Island’s South Ocean Avenue gains two new tenants

    Patchogue, N.Y. -- A storefront retail space in downtown Patchogue, New York, has secured leases totaling 7,400 sq. ft., according to North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management.

    The 23,000-sq.-ft. space at 35-71 South Ocean Ave. will feature sushi restaurant 360 Taiko Sushi & Lounge (4,900 sq. ft.) and apparel retailer Jeans Fashion (2,500 sq. ft.).

  • Roundy’s closes Minnesota DC, cuts 196 jobs

    Milwaukee – Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. is closing its distribution center in Stevens Point, Minnesota. The closure, expected to take place by Sept. 30, will eliminate 196 jobs.

  • Joint venture acquires greater Cleveland center

    NEW YORK — Hornig Capital Partners, a privately held New York City-based investment company, has combined in a joint venture with Hutensky Capital Partners of Hartford, Conn. to acquire the Golden Gate Shopping Center in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, in the greater Cleveland region. The joint venture purchased the property from Forest City Enterprises for $47,050,000, together with B&D Holdings, making it one of the largest single asset retail deals in the region during the past 24 months.

  • Mid-America secures retail leases in Chicago’s southwest suburbs

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management Inc. has announced three new retail leases on behalf of two shopping centers in Chicago’s southwest suburbs.     

    Flexeon Rehabilitation signed a lease for 2,923 sq. ft. at Hillcrest Shopping Center in Crest Hill, Illinois. The 240,268-sq.-ft. center is anchored by TJ Maxx, Food 4 Less, Citi Trends, and Harbor Freight Tools.

  • Report: New retail center planned for El Paso, Texas

    El Paso, Texas – A 20,000-sq.-ft. retail center is planned to open in El Paso, Texas, this summer. The center will be constructed by EP Riverbend Development and real estate broker Will Brown on a mostly empty site occupied by a single liquor store, which will be torn down.

    The center will be called The Substation and offer spaces as small as 800 sq. ft. for rental. Plans include outdoor spaces and seating and a closed pedestrian mall. Construction is set to begin in the fall.

  • Trader Joe’s continues to expand South Florida

    New York -- Trader Joe’s continues its expansion in South Florida with fall openings planned for three stores in Palm Beach County, the Sun Sentinel reported.

    The grocer will open locations in Delray Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton, all in September, the report said.

     

  • dd’s Discounts to open in Hallandale, Fla.

    Dublin, Calif. — dd’s Discounts, a division of Ross Stores, will open its 23rd new store in Florida on June 28 in the Hallandale Shopping Center in Hallandale Beach, Florida. When this store opens, dd’s Discounts will operate more than 140 locations in 12 states. The retailer is on schedule to complete its expansion plan to open approximately 20 locations in 2014.
