  • Walgreens saves time and effort spent on digital coupons

    Paperless coupons are supposed to easy, and Walgreens is doing its best to make them that way.   Walgreens customers now have the ability to redeem digital coupons from Walgreens and manufacturers for online purchases, as well as in-store purchases. Additionally, offers can now be “clipped” on product detail pages and in search results on Walgreens.com, and through the Walgreens mobile app.

  • Survey: How to compete against Amazon for holiday sales

    Although Amazon poses a major holiday sales threat, there are steps retailers can take to produce a merry season.   According to a new survey of 1,500 U.S. consumers by marketing platform provider Signal, 42% of respondents said Amazon will be their primary holiday gift destination. Consumers who use Amazon do so because it is easy (50%), because they are Prime members (36%), and because they like the product reviews and recommendations (29%).  
  • Analysis: Amazon Dash not yet on fast track

    It’s been more than a year, but consumers still are not rushing to use Amazon Dash buttons.   New analysis of e-receipts from a daily panel of more than 4 million online shoppers from digital commerce research firm Slice Intelligence shows that fewer than 50% of people who bought a Dash button have actually made an order.  
  • Japanese retail giant coming to Disney

    Japanese specialty apparel retailer Uniqlo is expanding its U.S. presence into the Southeast, and is also expanding its relationship with Disney.    The company will open a two-level, 25,000-sq.-ft. store on July 15 in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It will be Uniqlo’s first location in the Southeast.

    If you want to ferret out the hottest new concepts in retailing, head to the coolest streets in the city, not the suburban mall. So states a new report from Cushman and Wakefield, which rated the 100 hippest and edgiest neighborhoods in America based on assessments from its brokers, appraisers, and property managers nationwide.
