  • eBay takes counterfeiters on with new campaign

    NEW YORK — eBay is taking a stand against counterfeit goods by partnering with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to launch "You Can't Fake Fashion," a new campaign to celebrate original design. Part of the campaign includes the creation of totes, customized by 50 designers, which sport the tagline "You can't Fake Fashion."  This collection is now on sale exclusively at eBay Fashion Vault at fixed, "Buy It Now" prices.

  • West Elm to open pop-up shop

    New York City -- Williams-Sonoma’s West Elm brand will open its first ever pop-up shop, in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., on July 14.

    The 3,300-sq.-ft. store will offer a unique mix of products picked especially for Georgetown and with the small living spaces of nearby colleges and universities in mind.

  • Ross Stores set to open 1,000th store

    Pleasanton, Calif. -- Off-price retailer Ross Stores will celebrate the opening of its 1000th Ross Dress for Less store, in North Pleasant Hill, Calif., on July 16.

    The new store is Ross’ 50th location in the Bay Area. The company operates more than 1000 Ross Dress for Less and dd's Discounts locations.

  • Applebee’s to open at CooperTowne Center

    Somerdale, N.J. -- Purchase, N.Y.-based National Realty & Development Corp. said Tuesday that Applebee’s will open a new restaurant at the 385,000-sq.-ft. CooperTowne Center in Somerdale, N.J.

    Applebee’s will occupy 7,029 sq. ft. of this redevelopment project and will join anchor tenants Walmart Supercenter, Cinemark Theatres and LA Fitness.

  • Nike opens concept store at Forum Shops

    Las Vegas -- Nike announced Thursday that its new 30,000-sq.-ft. concept store, an expanded iteration of the original, will open in July at The Forum Shops at Caesars, in Las Vegas.

    The expanded location will deliver new customer experiences, market-tailored products, community resources and the introduction of team customization services, according to Nike.

  • An interesting conversation around shopper insights

    Former and short-time Walmart executive Robert Atencio is among a group of marketers slated to interview former P&G chairman and CEO A.G. Lafley during an event called Shopper Insights in Action. The 11th annual event is billed as a riveting brainstorming session in which the former P&G head will share thoughts on the future of research, marketing, retail and the evolution of the changing consumer. Atencio, who formerly served as VP insights and customer strategy at Walmart, is currently VP global insights at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
