  • Walgreen’s plans store on Johns Hopkins campus

    Deerfield, Ill. – Walgreen’s is planning to build a new store on the East Baltimore medical campus of Johns Hopkins University. The store will be developed according to the Walgreens Web Experience format and offer the retailer’s first in-store Take Care health clinic in the state of Maryland. Walgreen’s and Johns Hopkins announced a collaboration in May 2011.

  • DSW and Loehmann’s step into shoe agreement

    DSW’s division the Affiliated Business Group has entered into a joint agreement with Loehmann’s which renders ABG the sole supplier for Loehmann’s footwear departments in the company’s U.S. locations and e-commerce site.

    The initial roll out is expected to begin at a few stores starting December, with the balance of the chain and e-commerce launching in the first quarter 2014. ABG will plan, procure and deliver the entire women's and men's footwear inventory, while Loehmann’s will provide staffing for the shoe departments.

  • Lam Group chooses broker for NYC NoMad retail

    New York -- The Lam Group has chosen Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) Retail and Hospitality Services to lease the 100,000-sq.-ft. retail portion of a mixed-use project in the NoMad neighborhood of New York City.

    The 400,000-sq.-ft. project includes two 300-room hotels with meeting spaces, wellness facilities, multiple food and beverage outlets and retail space.

     

  • PayPal latest initiative is out of this world

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — When one thinks of space exploration and space travel, Paypal is hardly the first thing that comes to mind. But the eBay company is spearheading an initiative that is paving the way for space commerce.

    With the help of the SETI Institute and the Space Tourism Society, PayPal Galactic aims to make universal space payments a reality. Paypal president David Marcus was joined by astronaut and author Buzz Aldrin to announce the initiative’s launch. 

  • Dick’s unveils digital training platform

    Pittsburgh – Dick’s Sporting Goods is launching a digital athletic training platform in partnership with sports training provider IMG Academy. The platform, known as “Day One,” operates across PC, mobile and tablet devices and provides comprehensive training information for fall, winter and spring sports including football, soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, golf and tennis.
