  • VeriFone to acquire Hypercom

    San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems, a global leader in secure electronic payment solutions, and Hypercom Corp., the high-security electronic payment and digital transactions solutions provider, Wednesday announced a definitive agreement under which VeriFone will acquire Hypercom in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $485 million, including net debt assumed by VeriFone.

  • Brown Shoe to test new store format

    St. Louis -- Brown Shoe Co. will test a new retail format, called Mind Body Sole by Famous Footwear, that offers a wide range of fitness footwear for active consumers. The shops, opening in five locations by yearend, will feature footwear for running, walking, hiking, toning and more from top brands including Nike, Reebok, ASICS, Skechers, New Balance, Avia, Saucony, Adidas and K-Swiss.

  • Christmas Tree Shops opens at Wendover Place

    Greensboro, N.C. -- New York City-based Centro Properties Group said that Christmas Tree Shops has opened a 33,500-sq.-ft. store at Wendover Place Shopping Center, in Greensboro, N.C. 

    Centro Properties Group is the owner of Wendover Place.
     

  • Sports Authority, HomeGoods join Shops at Midtown Miami

    Miami -- Beachwood, Ohio-based Developers Diversified Realty Corp. said that The Sports Authority, HomeGoods and a selection of retail shops and restaurants are opening and coming soon to The Shops at Midtown Miami, a 645,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use retail, dining and residential center.

    The Sports Authority plans to open a 34,544-sq.-ft. store in 2011. HomeGoods opened a 25,351-sq.-ft. location in late fall 2010.

  • Ashley Furniture opens at Baybrook Gateway

    Webster, Texas -- New York City-based Centro Properties Group announced that Ashley Furniture has opened a 45,000-sq.-ft. store at Baybrook Gateway, located in Webster, Texas.

    Centro Properties Group is the owner of Baybrook Gateway.
