  • Neiman Marcus to launch international shipping for e-commerce customers

    Dallas -- Neiman Marcus Group said Tuesday it has launched international shipping and payment options for online sales via a relationship with global e-commerce expansion platform FiftyOne Global Ecommerce.

    The move will allow Neiman, which has only a domestic bricks-and-mortar presence, to expand its online reach to 100+ countries. It kicks off with a promotional flat-rate shipping offer on all international purchases through Dec. 10.

    Third quarter sales at OfficeMax declined 1.7% to $1.74 billion and same store sales dropped 2.1% due to weak demand for office products.

  • Former Walgreens exec to head marketing at OfficeMax

    CHICAGO — OfficeMax has named Kim Feil as EVP and chief marketing and strategy officer, effective Nov. 12. Feil will report to Ravi Saligram, president and CEO of OfficeMax, and will have accountability for all aspects of marketing across the enterprise, with particular emphasis on brand management and evolution of the company's traditional marketing vehicles to new media including digital and social.

  • Kum & Go to invest $90 million in building 20-25 eco-friendly stores

    West Des Moines, Iowa -- Kum & Go has announced plans to invest $90 million in building a total of 20-25 new stores in the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak region of the Centennial State within the next five years.
     
    Kum & Go, the fifth largest privately held company-operated convenience store chain in the United States, is marking the grand opening of its first three stores in Colorado Springs this week.

    AUSTIN, Texas — Golfsmith International has named Sue E. Gove president and CEO of the world's largest specialty golf retailer. Gove, formerly president and COO of the combined Golfsmith and Golf Town business, has also served as the chief integration officer leading the successful Golfsmith-Golf Town combination which was finalized this past July.

  • Gap Inc. donates $1M in cash and clothing to Sandy relief

    SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc. is donating more than $1 million to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, which struck the East Coast earlier this week and caused widespread damage and destruction.

    Upon the request of the American Red Cross, Gap Inc. will donate more than $250,000 worth of clothing, which will be distributed tomorrow in New Jersey, one of the areas hit the hardest by this week’s superstorm. In addition, the company will donate $750,000 cash to provide critical help and necessities for those in affected areas.

  • Tiffany to open Paris flagship

    New York -- Tiffany & Co. announced that it plans to open a flagship in Paris.

    The approximately 10,000-sq.-ft. multi-level store will be located at 62 Avenue des Champs Elysées and is expected to open in 2014.
