  • Jerry Bob’s Restaurant expands in Tucson

    Tucson, Ariz. — Jerry Bob’s Restaurant plans to open its 15th restaurant in the Tucson area — in River Crossing. JB Restaurants V, the franchisee, will own the 2,400-sq.-ft restaurant that is slated to open in January 2014.

  • Forest City acquires Macy’s Home Store at Ballston Common

    Arlington, Va. — Forest City has acquired Macy’s Furniture Store building at the Ballston Common Mall from Macy’s. Forest City, the owner, developer and manager of the mall, plans to redevelop the property and add mixed uses including residential and office. The Home Store, which is connected to the mall on three levels, is the first step in the redevelopment.

  • Bon-Ton appoints Spencer exec to board

    York, Pa. - The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. board of directors has unanimously elected Steven Silverstein to its board, effective immediately. Silverstein will serve on the Human Resources and Compensation Committee.

  • Pearle Vision, Lyndhurst, Ohio

    Pearle Vision has debuted a new store design, in Legacy Village, Lyndhurst, Ohio. The  Cleveland-area store features a completely revamped look,  from a new brand logo and signage to modernized displays and a completely transformed floor plan.

    The design, by WD Partners, incorporates the company's rich history, with a new eyeglass icon that speaks to the heritage of Dr. Pearle and the Pearle Vision brand. Accompanying the new logo and signage is "Est. 1961," a tribute that reinforces the company's commitment to a 50-year legacy.

  • Rite Aid chooses AMTdirect’s real estate management solution

    Charlotte, N.C. — Rite Aid Corporation has selected AMTdirect’s real estate software solution to manage its portfolio of more than 5,800 locations. AMTdirect’s integrated platform will help Rite Aid define and implement its real estate strategy by consolidating data, streamlining key business processes and informing decision-makers at all levels.

  • Dick’s to unveil remodeled store in Cary, N.C.

    Pittsburgh -- Dick’s Sporting Goods will open its newly renovated store in Cary, N.C., on Sept. 29, featuring 56,000 sq. ft. of specialized services and experiential elements such as a golf simulator, club fitting center, putting green, archery lane with an on-site bow technician, and bike safety inspections, custom fittings, tune-ups and assembly.

  • PREIT completes sale of two power centers

    PhiladelphiaPennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust has completed the sales of two power center properties. In two separate transactions, PREIT sold Christiana Center in Newark, Del., and Commons at Magnolia in Florence, S.C. for $87.3 million. The proceeds represent a blended cap rate of 6.8%. Gains on the sales totaled approximately $45.4 million.

    In connection with these transactions, the buyer assumed the $49.2 million mortgage loan secured by Christiana Center.

  • Kroger CEO to step down Jan. 1

    Cincinnati – David B. Dillon will step down as CEO of The Kroger Co. effective Jan. 1, 2014. Dillon, 62, is a 37-year Kroger veteran who has been serving as CEO since 2003; he will remain chairman of the board.
