  • Chico’s names new CFO

    Fort Myers, Fla. -- Chico's FAS announced that it has appointed Todd E. Vogensen as senior VP, CFO, replacing Pamela Knous, who has left the organization to pursue other interests.

    Prior to his appointment as CFO, Vogensen had been the Chico’s senior VP finance. He has served Chico's in numerous roles over the past five years. Previously, Vogensen held multiple positions of increasing scope and responsibility with Michaels Stores.

     

  • Annie’s adds former Kimberly-Clark exec to board

    Annie's, a natural and organic food company, has added Robert W. Black, a senior adviser to the Boston Consulting Group and former group president of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, to its board of directors. Black will serve as chairman of the Annie's nominating/corporate governance committee.

  • RILA notes concern on union contract talks at West Coast ports as deadline looms

    Arlington, Va. – With the deadline to resolve the union contract negotiations at West Coast closing in, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) on Friday said that undertaking essential measures to avoid work stoppage and preserve reliable channels for retail supply chains should be the top priority.

    RILA issued the following statement, which it attributed to Kelly Kolb, VP government affairs:

  • Michaels growth outlook underwhelms IPO investors

    New store growth, 13.4% operating margins and totally untapped e-commerce potential failed to impress would-be Michaels investors when the company returned to public ownership Friday, June 27.

  • Kurt Webb is new GM at The Shops at Mission Viejo

    Mission Viejo, Calif. — The Shops at Mission Viejo, a Simon Property Group property in Mission Viejo, California, has welcomed Kurt Webb as the new general manager. Webb began working with the center in mid-April and recently relocated to the region. He came on full time as of June 1.

    Webb will be responsible for local leasing, tenant relations, building operations, security and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will act as a key liaison for various community and strategic organizations.

  • Dollar General seeks new CEO

    The Rick Dreiling era is coming to an end at Dollar General as the chairman and CEO announced plans to retire next year, initiating a search internally and externally for a successor.

  • Brooks Brothers names designer Zac Posen as women’s creative director

    New York - Brooks Brothers has named designer Zac Posen as creative director for its signature women's collection and accessories. In this new role, Posen will direct the current Brooks Brothers design and merchant teams and will be responsible for the women's collection and affect a variety of areas including brand development and presentation for the women's label.

    Posen's first women's collection for Brooks Brothers will debut in spring 2016 and will be available worldwide. Posen launched his eponymous collection in 2001.
