  • Descartes acquires GeoMicro

    Waterloo, Ontario -- Descartes Systems Group, a provider in logistics technology, acquired GeoMicro, a California-based provider of advanced geographic information systems (GIS) and commercial turn-by-turn navigation.

  • Home Depot acquires home-services platform

    Atlanta -- The Home Depot has acquired Redbeacon, an online home services platform connecting consumers with contractors for their home maintenance, repair and remodeling needs. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

    Redbeacon's leadership team will stay in place and will remain in San Mateo, Calif.
     

  • Hudson’s Bay completes acquisition of Lord & Taylor

    New York City -- Hudson’s Bay Co. has completed the acquisition of Lord & Taylor, according to a report by Women’s Wear Daily.

    The report said that HBC owner Richard Baker has dissolved the umbrella company that had until now held the two chains, and that HBC would now operate The Bay and Lord & Taylor. The new entity will be run by Bay CEO Bonnie Brooks, according to the report.

  • Old Navy president resigns

    SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc. has announced that Tom Wyatt, president of its Old Navy brand, has resigned in order to take a position at another company outside of the apparel retail business, effective Feb. 3. The company has named two senior executives at Old Navy to lead the division, reporting to Gap Inc. chairman and CEO Glenn Murphy, while a formal search for a new brand president is under way.

  • 7-Eleven completes acquisition of 51 ExxonMobil sites

    Dallas -- 7-Eleven said it has completed the transaction with ExxonMobil to acquire retail interests in 51 North Texas sites. The transaction concluded Jan. 20, and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
    The majority of locations will be rebranded as 7-Eleven stores.

    "This acquisition fits well with our aggressive growth strategy," said Robbie Radant, 7-Eleven's new VP of mergers and acquisitions. "We met our goal of opening 650 stores in 2011, and with this acquisition 2012 is off to a great start."
